Lovely idea - my first thought though is that the best thing I think everyone can do is to stay home and wear masks, wash hands, etc. That would be the best way to support NHS workers and bring the biggest relief to them in the most effective manner. Here's a plea from a Dr...

I tend to agree with Otto2 - avoid being in compromising situations.

Without wishing to hijack or derail, passing Off The Cuff at 7ish last night, I was appalled to see a hundred or so people drinking and shouting in groups of more than two. Not for the first time. Ridiculous and irresponsible.

Thank you so much for doing this again. I appreciate the help you are giving Kings on many peoples behalf. I saw an article where Kings have had to cancel/postpone urgent surgeries as a result of the number of COVID cases, so I just can only try to imagine the severe stress they are under! I?ll donate more again shortly, I wish I could do more!

This is a great idea BUT they have a fundraiser going that has raised over ?50k called 'Buy a coffee for Kings' so you might want to focus on other smaller local good causes doing great work?

Albrighton Community Centre

Kingswood Estate

LinkAge (formerly Help the Aged)

Dulwich Helpline

Westminster House Youth Club (based in Nunhead)

All in desperate need of funds right now...

I totally agree the NHS are amazing and should be supported but just wanted to flag there are already fundraisers that have raised huge amounts already for Kings.

Hi

The Kings college fundraiser is such a great idea, thank you for setting it up.

We are in the middle of collecting donations from our suppliers, to donate to the hospital, hopefully our suppliers will help, we have reached out too many of them.

We donated a care package to the hospital back in the 1st Lockdown, however its evident the NHS frontline staff need continuous help and support

.

We can also try and help the Albrighton Community food bank. Are Our space still collecting donations. jellybeans?

Thank you

    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.

Worth contacting her with views on ammendments to the original license. I am fairly sure she won't grant any amendments, but just in case.....
    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
