I finally had post on Wednesday evening(!) which was mailed to me 2 weeks earlier! Massive issues in the local sorting offices I'm told due to volume of mail, social distancing and staff off sick. Regardless the local post has never been the same since they closed the East Dulwich sorting office.

Maybe they posted you a response Lynne 😱😂

We got a pack of "ordinary" post today (Underhill/Wood Vale/Melford) - first in about 10 days (but we did get a Christmas card/package type delivery last week). In today's batch was a bank card I was advised by my card provider to cancel a week ago (as it had been out for delivery for over three weeks). I took a punt it would arrive eventually and it did.

Helen Hayes was incredibly helpful to me earlier this year when I was trying to get delivery of a key financial document that the bank would only send out by post and it was only after her intervention and being able to point to her letter and tweets on the issue that the bank agreed to send it by another method. For what it's worth, she and her team seem incredibly frustrated that every time they raise this with Royal Mail there is a big reallocation of resources to Peckham Sorting office to clear the backlog, things get better for a week or so, but then rapidly go back to the way they were, so I'm not surprised they've taken the next step of writing to Ofcom.

Postwoman just delivered a packet. One packet.

Postmarked 15 December, ie around a week later than the item I am waiting for. To add insult to injury it was for my partner/bubble, who doesn't even live here most of the time :))

We had a conversation. She said she had just had a similar conversation with someone down the road who was expecting something urgent. She said the sorting office was "under pressure".

After she had gone, I noticed that she had just dumped a large packet for my immediate neighbours (who I know are out) on their doorstep, in full view and within easy reach of passers by.

FFS.

ETA: I took in my neighbours' packet and have let them know, obvs.

We haven;'t had any mail for 10 days - still waiting for birthday cards which were posted early December. We're on Friern Rd and we had a parcel delivered. The postman said there was a huge backlog and post has been piling up. It's very frustrating - my son wanted Casual Christmas Postal work and would be down there like a shot, but no vacancies!!!!

Sunday 20th Dec Postman delivering to Rodwell and Heber Road, I see him on the way out delivering in Rodwell.

On the way back 45 minutes later he was in Heber so it was not parcels

As I was passing I ask him if he was going Pellatt, Wheatley Road his answer was No.

On this he put the post bag in his van and drove away.

If you do Rodwell and Heber roads, would you not do two roads in line with with these. seems bad

Mangerment to me. No POST AGAIN MONDAY TUESDAY

    • Planning permission for the new Tesco Express on the old Poundland site, on Lordship Lane has now been granted. It was granted on the 14th October.  Tesco’s will have an ATM, which we need in East Dulwich.
    • So for the vast, vast majority of people their internet is access via wires (or fibre) supplied by openreach, virgin or one of the smaller providers like community fibre so there is a physical medium involved. However you can buy off-the-shelf 5G Routers that have a SIM card slot.  Put a 5G SIM card in it and you can then access the internet from your home devices via 5G.  Imagine hot-spotting your phone and sharing it.  Effectively that's what your doing. Rather than buy one, 3 (and I think EE) allow you to take out a contract for a 5G SIM and the router for around £20-25 a month. Speeds won't be as fast but I get around 80 gig bits download speed and it holds up fine for us. Thus the mobile providers gain a foothold in the "broadband" market. 3 offer a no-quibble 30 day guarantee so you can try it out and if you find your signal isn't strong or reliable enough you can take it back for no charge.
    • Me too, now and then it would be down to the exchange and an issue there.  Comparing what I have had done in the last 15 or so years with them, friends have had more issues with Sky, Virgin etc than I have ever had!  I moved to fibre a while ago with them, and, 'touchwood', everything has been great.
    • Very happy to give another recommendation for Dave - he did a super job on our bedroom recently fitting underlay and carpet. Really great finish and very reasonably priced plus a lovely guy!
