Tuco is awesome... totally underused in Breaking Bad. Hopefully he'll pop up a few times more in BCS.

I reckon there's potential (maybe in the next series) to bring back Jesse and his buddies in one or two episodes. If you remember when we first met Saul in BB, Jesse implied that he was familiar with Saul and his... methods.

According to Wikipedia there were talks with the Jessie actor (Aaron somebody?) but he says it isn't happening. That's not to say it won't though.

Talks with Hank and Skylar have also happened apparently, so suspect we'll see some familiar faces in the future.

It also says it's both a prequel (it's set in 2002) and a sequel dealing with some of the aftermath of BB, so will be interesting to see how that all works out.

I could be wrong, but I think there are plenty of poeple out there who'd like to know what became of both Saul and Jessie after BB.

We watched this last night

It felt slightly more Coen Brothers this time around

Saul is a great character, i'm glad to see him back

But how long before the roles dry up for him? Whatever else he's in, he's always going to be Jesse Pinkman...

And the audience will be expecting him to end every sentence with "bitch!"

I've still only watched the first one. I know what Quids means about the link to Breaking Bad, but that's unavoidable. It couldn't work as a stand alone because in too many ways it's linking itself to the future of BB. For me it's a prequel.

I'd have liked to see earlier dealings with Gus, but in BB it is very clear that Saul has no idea who Gus is at first, so that ain't gonna happen.

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
