Great gardener

Hello

Just wanted to share that we recently got some garden maintenance work done to our front garden. We used the services of local gardener Tony Pooley. His work was excellent. He was thorough, meticulous, prompt, quick, and a good price.

We so often find it difficult to get a specialist in who actually really delivers. Who gets back to you in good time, keeps you informed, does as he says he will, turns up on time, gets the job done... all the basics you really hope for, but so often fail to materialise.

So, anyway, highly recommended.

TONY POOLEY

I just used Tony Pooley on a garden construction project thanks to a recommendation here and I would be very happy to recommend his services as a result.

When Tony came around initially he listened to what we wanted, discussed a few ideas he had and showed us lots of example gardens using his iPad. He then got back to us within a week with a detailed cost. The quote came in about 25% cheaper than our other 2 costs, and at the end of the project he actually came in slightly under budget.

He kept us informed throughout the project on how it was going and came up with some great solutions to a few problems that cropped up once he?d started. He?s a nice guy and works with a some reliable and polite gardeners. They all worked through a few very wet weeks in the rain to keep the project on schedule, and managed to not get any muddy footprints in the house either! And at the end of the project the garden looks great too.

I would also like to add my recommendation for Tony Pooley - he has just finished our front garden with new fence, path and gravel and has done a really excellent job. Very professional throughout, listened to what we wanted and gave some good ideas, good price and great finish. Highly recommended.

I'd like to put forward another recommendation for landscape gardener Tony Pooley. He's just completely re-vamped our back garden and it looks fantastic. He listened carefully to what we wanted and how we used the garden and suggested some brilliant ideas. He accommodated some last minute changes we wanted and still came in on budget.

The team who worked with him were also great- they were prompt, polite and very tidy considering they had to bring tons of sand/cement/decking etc through the house. They put down dust sheets and boards and then hoovered every evening before they went home.

We are so pleased with his work that we're getting him back to do our front garden!

If you want to get in touch with him his details are:

Another strong recommendation for Tony and his team!

Our backyard consisted of some horrible decking which had caused damp issues in the past and some uneven grass. We weren't sure exactly what we wanted, so had quite a few gardeners off the forum come around to give us some quotes/ideas. Tony was great at coming up with ideas and was able to show us a variety of different photos on his IPAD of work that he'd done. He was very concerned about the damp issue, and came up with a viable and practical solution. He was very particular when carrying out the work and had a very keen eye for detail which we were delighted about!

Tony and Tam always arrived on time, worked extremely hard were a pleasure to have around the house. My wife had only just given birth to out first child, but most of the time you wouldn't have even known they were here. The backyard was kept spotless, even whilst doing heavy paving.

The work was completed on budget and we would have no hesitation getting Tony and his team back if we ever needed anything else. Everyone who comes over comments and how great the garden space is and this is all due to the work done by Tony and his team.

If anyone wants photos of his work, happy to pass them on.

Thanks, Adam

After reading these fab reviews I jumped at the chance to engage Tony in re-jigging my little garden, and he seemed very on the ball when he came round to quote. However, disappointingly he then failed completely to follow up and I heard nothing further from him, despite sending several polite emails across several weeks asking what the status of the job was. After wasting time for weeks and with the weather on the turn I've had to engage someone else now.

What a shame - was not expecting this from a local tradesman. Taking 2 mins to write an email letting me know he was busy and no longer pursuing my job would have been nice...

I would like to recommend Dave on tel. 07900 376 190 as a great gardener. He has helped maintained our garden for the past year and given advise to prune and have more space for the kids. He has large experience, very knowledgeable, good manners, has contacts with other local experts to complement his work where necessary as is very reasonably priced.

I just wanted to add my recommendation of Tony Pooley and to say he's happy to take on small spaces. My garden is tiny! infact it is a concrete yard 2 metres square but Tony and Ben have now transformed it with raised decking, wooden screening and an integrated bench to a truly lovely space. Tony spent lots of time discussing options and ideas for the space with me and followed up quickly with a detailed quote and was realistic about when work could begin. I've got no hesitation in recommending him for any job large or small.

Tony has just completed a very small job for me ? bit of fencing and revamping the side section of our back garden. As many other forum users have commented, I found him to be efficient and polite with great attention to detail. He?s also going to do our tiny front garden in December!

Hiya

Ditto here - really pleased with tony and ben's work. Nice guys and turned up on time and got the job done by an agreed deadline. It was a small job by their standards (some decking down our side return) but they gave it full attention to detail. They also probably saved me lots of money in future damp work as they pointed out the previous decking was covering the air bricks and was too high for building regs. They also noted a blocked drain which we didn't know we had - got it fixed before it flooded the house with sewerage! Would recommend.

    • The end of a decade and a half of gaslighting, they must be exhausted. Oh boy, are we going to hear some coercive BS in the next 6 weeks. For some reason they don’t seem to be boasting about how well we are doing in education, crime and policing, fishing, agriculture, health, prisons, trade, trade agreements, immigration, transportation, utilities (including water), amongst other things. They seem to be focussing on exporting individual ‘illegal’ immigrants to Africa for more than it costs to take a journey into space. And rainbow-coloured lanyards for use within the civil service. I wonder why?🤔
    • If you have a campervan (windows all round, seats in) they’re treated just like cars - come unannounced as often as you need. So I think it’s a way to avoid commercial interests’ abuse of the service. Imagine if you provided a local clearance service, you could empty peoples gardens and houses and take it straight to the dump and have nothing to pay.
