I pm'd her and told her not to post publicly as you never know who could be reading it, I don't even really know anyone on here really myself. Shu.Kurimu I think everyone deals with their shit a different way, and although this is slightly out of the usual, you have no right slating someone for making the decision to deal with their shit the way they want to and see fit to, you had a choice not to read it if you do not wish to get involved in someone else's shit, but chose instead to post silly unhelpful and hurtful comments.

I thought the administrator was our censor (if needed)? Davina sounds grown up and apart from a few idiots (which she'd easily deal with) I'm sure she'd get a lot of useful feedback if that's what Davina is looking for. She doesn't need our approval to post or not. Isn't that the spirit of the EDF?

Personally, if this is a geniune, then I think there are far, far, far better places to share your story - why not try a group for survivors of abuse? Honestly, I don't think publicly posting something on this forum that is very personal and fragile is a good idea. Plus, I hate to tell you this but there are some very sick people out there who read and use abuse stories as pornography. And doing a search, they can easily come across the forum as it really shows up well in the search engines. And I have to say I'm slightly suspcious that while you might be geninune, you might also be someone who writes this stuff for kicks. Nothing surprises me where the internet is concerned. Sorry if you are geninue but it's what I thought as soon as you posted.

Wow, that is a sick thought though scruffy, what a twisted world we live in, thats why I did actually advise her not to post publicly because you never know if someone out there might be getting kicks out of reading about it. I actually do believe her, and her reasons for needing to tell someone, she posted me and someone else her story privately and has, as you say now left the building. Very harrowing, but good luck to her, and I hope that by finally telling someone it will help her along her way. She won't be returning she said and if she is reading this, good luck to you girl, I know I could not ever be that strong not in a million years!

Innit you tease! Personally I think anyone should post what they want, for everyone who then has a go at them there will most likely be at least equal numbers who will quick up for them. That said, if it's as bad as all that, there are many many more appropriate places to turn to. Best of luck anyway.

    • The current wave of xenophobia is due to powerful/influential people stirring up hatred.  It;'s what happened in the past, think 1930s Germany.  It seems to be even easier now as so many get their information from social media, whether it is right or wrong.  The media seeking so called balance will bring some nutter on, they don't then bring a nutter on to counteract that. They now seem to turn to Reform at the first opportunity. So your life is 'shite', let;s blame someone else.  Whilst sounding a bit like a Tory, taking some ownership/personal responsibility would be a start.  There are some situations where that may be more challenging, in deindustrialised 'left behind' wasteland we can't all get on our bikes and find work.  But I loathe how it is now popular to blame those of us from relatively modest backgrounds, like me, who did see education and knowledge as a way to self improve. Now we are seen by some as smug liberals......
    • Kwik Fit buggered up an A/C leak diagnosis for me (saying there wasn't one, when there was) and sold a regas. The vehicle had to be taken to an A/C specialist for condensor replacement and a further regas. Not impressed.
    • Yes, these are all good points. I agree with you, that division has led us down dangerous paths in the past. And I deplore any kind of racism (as I think you probably know).  But I feel that a lot of the current wave of xenophobia we're witnessing is actually more about a general malaise and discontent. I know non-white people around here who are surprisingly vocal about immigrants - legal or otherwise. I think this feeling transcends skin colour for a lot of people and isn't as simple as, say, the Jew hatred of the 1930s or the Irish and Black racism that we saw laterally. I think people feel ignored and looked down upon.  What you don't realise, Sephiroth, is that I actually agree with a lot of what you're saying. I just think that looking down on people because of their voting history and opinions is self-defeating. And that's where Labour's getting it wrong and Reform is reaping the rewards.
    • @Sephiroth you made some interesting points on the economy, on the Lammy thread. Thought it worth broadening the discussion. Reeves (irrespective of her financial competence) clearly was too downbeat on things when Labour came into power. But could there have been more honesty on the liklihood of taxes going up (which they have done, and will do in any case due to the freezing of personal allowances).  It may have been a silly commitment not to do this, but were you damned if you do and damned if you don't?
