Yeah, I think most people will be holding what they have for the coming unemployment or fear of it. The furlough was to cover the costs of businesses making no income. The government is about to reduce that while many of those businesses are still making no income. Others not enough. Does anyone really think most restaurants are going to survive even when they reopen with measures? The same for pubs, theatres, music venues? And what about gyms, spas, etc? Some are already going to the wall.
I imagine instead of restaurants, people will get takeaways, or instead of take away they will get taste the difference etc . Thats if they want a treat. On the other hand some people who were on taste the difference will be on Lidl sell bys... maybe more home grown food?
Come to Portugal in August/Sept. I've been in lockdown here for 3 months and it's been lovely. They are desperate for British tourists to come and an airbridge shortly is likely. Algarve resorts are at 30% capacity. The main tourist/UNESCO heritage spots are blissfully empty and flights aren't too bad. Glad I left south London tbh. Looks like a clown show over there.

Being as many of us are working from home forever now there is no reason to stay in London.

People beginning to fan out across UK (and Europe until Brexit day)

    • I definitely have some grass cuttings, and various bits of plant cuttings etc, which has been piling up in my garden. I’ve been meaning to bag it up, but don’t have much time on account of two small children.  if that helps?
    • Walking around Belgravia and Knightsbridge stopping to look at window displays in Harvey Nics and Harrods. Tea at The Ritz and Burlington Arcade. Theatre without doubt - concert at Royal Albert Hall. Must go to Fortnum and Mason and Foyles Bookshop. London is magical at Christmas Time whoever and whatever one does. Personally, avoid Winter whatever it's called in Hyde Park - usually near Hyde Park Corner - got it Winter Wonderland. Expensive, tacky. See what’s on at Sachi Gallery in Sloane Square - sounds really crazy but a walk thru any of the parks and even a row on the Sepentine plus visit that gallery.
    • Eynella road is nowhere near the Herne Hill Oxfam shop. Do you mean Stradella?
    • Both great ideas. I went round that house in the early eighties (I think it was, may have been later),  but I think the tour is differently done now (and a lot more expensive!)
