Another vote for face masks from Really Maria on Lordship Lane

1. Local - you can buy in the shop or click and collect - no delivery delays

2. Good for large masks - my husband always has trouble buying hats and spectacles as his head is larger than average. Really Maria?s large was a better fit than the extra large he ordered online. The elastic can be adjusted to give the fit you want - masks with straps round the head not ears are better for spectacle users

3. Only washed once but no issues

Also happy with mine (?10) from Really Maria.

If you're like me and prefer the straps around the ears, she'll happily do them that way.

Were they possibly these, the only one I could find on their website, but marked as ?3.99, and only Large left? https://karavaneco.co.uk/products/facemask?variant=34753450836134

If not, any idea how they compare, on grade/thickness of cotton, and number and type of layers

Thoroughly recommend Vanessa and her sister?s masks from SE22Breathe

She delivers locally, very reasonably priced. Friendly and responsive, you can drop an email or an instagram message to place the order, and payment can be via PayPal.

Thank you Esme, glad you liked your masks.

Jen works Monday to Thursday and was making these masks in her spare time for friends and family, but some neighbours started asking for masks on our road's Whatsapp Group, so she began making additional masks. She buys the material locally, and makes reversible, washable face masks. I have attached photos of the material she currently has, if anyone is interested.

They really are lovely, well made and look nice (unlike most other masks I've seen) and tho I know it's about health and safety from the virus, I also think it's nice to look bright and summery in these times!

    • If you are looking for a trustworthy professional, I highly recommend Niko. He has consistently delivered quality work. No job is too small, and he is always accommodating. He has helped me out on a number of occasions, often at short notice when unexpected issues arose. His number is 07818 607583.
    • Well, they do turn them away from the A&E route at Kings and rightly so they employ GPs and if after triaging you’re determined to have a GP type problem you are sent to see one of the GPs on site or close to the site.
    • My bike (a ELOPS 120 step over classic from Decathlon) was stolen from outside The Belham this afternoon. I locked it up while I collected my kids, then the street was so busy that I left it there while I walked them home. Did a few other things at home, came back about 5.30pm and it was gone. Sharing just in case anyone sees it or finds it anywhere - it’s a few years old and the chain is a bit rusty/makes a clicking sound so maybe there’s a slight chance someone would dump it! Really annoying and just a reminder to be really careful with bikes. The picture shows the bike model from the Decathlon website.
    • Thanks, I didn't know that.  People are even more stupid than I thought then, if they are willing to wait hours in A&E for an ingrown toenail. I presume they don't get put at the front of the queue. Why isn't the 111 service more widely advertised? That puts you in touch with a doctor, who will advise on the phone or visit, and if necessary  you will be advised to go to A&E or they will arrange an ambulance to take you.
