Spooner
We did this yesterday and I would like to donate something every week. Does anyone have contact details for the Foodbank? It would be brilliant if they could set up a donation box at Sainsburys so people could drop something in regularly if they so choose. Pippo Inzaghi
They did the same for Lewisham food bank at Sainsburys in Forest Hill. Great idea. Should be a permanent idea. Food banks are being overwhelmed by families in need of basics, so this is more important than ever. celiasmith
Buddug, yes its come to this. I work for a London council and we've been giving out food vouchers for about 1 year now. We offer them to people who have a crisis and I can assure you their are lots of them and they come from all walks of life. Some people are too proud to accept them but a lot have kids to feed and accept gladly. I will definitely get involved with my local food bank as its such a worthwhile cause. buddug
The food banks are a vital lifeline, and I shall definitely give what I can - but it's unbelievable that this is happening in Britain. Absolutely unbelievable. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25806-peckham-food-bank/#findComment-579695 Share on other sites

supergolden88
Take a look at this. I plan to start doing just that. If the supermarkets got on board and created collection points that would make it even easier. What can you do to help? Buy someone #22mealsforacoffee (That?s 22 meals for the price of a ?3 coffee?)http://agirlcalledjack.com/2013/07/30/what-can-you-do-to-help-buy-someone-22-meals-for-the-price-of-a-3-coffee/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25806-peckham-food-bank/#findComment-666738 Share on other sites
