Chrisptopher may be more sensitive than many but that's ok. Will he sell millions of records if he wins the competiton? No, and that may damage his confidence more than any other aspect of taking part in the show.

I still think James is miles ahead of everyone, from a commercial talent perspective. He may not win the competition but he will be the one that wins from a career afterwards.

Yep, I'm not disputing his talent at all, he's certainly got plenty. Same with Ella for me, she's got a good voice, impressive for her age, but I'd never buy her album. Union J are cute, but I'm not sure they're good enough to do well, especially not with One Direction on the scene who follow the same formula but have more of an edge (helped by the fact that one of them has a thing for older women which gets them lots of publicity aside from the music!).

I am starting to quite like Rylan - I'm not sure how much of the stupidity is an act, but he is quite funny. His singing is terrible, loved that he asked whether he could mime. He will end up on tv somehow, on a reality show like all the other Essex types.

Maybe you should return to your own thread & leave us, in this thread to mourn our losses.

I'm normally snoozing off at this point so last night was a real tonic.

I see this as a positive thing.. The show is slowly evolving and distilling itself into its perfect form and essence. By 2017 we will have the show we all deserve: a dozen monkeys forced to dance on a lightly electrified grid, slinging handfuls of shit at each other. (Olly Murs still to guest, naturally).

    • Many thanks to the woman who looked after our old deaf Miniature Schnauzer who got separated from us in the park this morning. And thank you to the man who alerted us . My husband is very relieved and grateful. If any one knows who these people are please say thank you as he didn't get their names.
    • why do we think we have the right for the elected local council to be transparent?
    • Granted Shoreditch is still London, but given that the council & organisers main argument for the festival is that it is a local event, for local people (to use your metaphor), there's surprisingly little to back this up. As Blah Blah informatively points out, this is now just a commercial venture with no local connection. Our park is regarded by them as an asset that they've paid to use & abuse. There's never been any details provided of where the attendees are from, but it's still trotted out as a benefit to the local community.  There's never been any details provided of any increase in sales for local businesses, but it's still trotted out as a benefit to the local community.  There's promises of "opportunities" for local people & traders to work at the festival, but, again, no figures to back this up. And lastly, the fee for the whole thing goes 100% to running the Events dept, and the dozens of free events that no-one seems able to identify, and, yes, you guessed it - no details provided for by the council. So again, no tangible benefit for the residents of the area.
    • I mean I hold no portfolio to defend Gala,  but I suspect that is their office.  I am a company director,  my home address is also not registered with Companies House. Also guys this is Peckham not Royston Vasey.  Shoreditch is a mere 20 mins away by train, it's not an offshore bolt hole in Luxembourg.
