Valentine's Day tomorrow - any plans???

Recommended Posts

everyone seems to have this one sussed - Cassius put it best IMO

Been with LadyMacG for 13 years now - and nowt to do with taking her to hastily re-arranged restaurants with reduced menus at inflated prices

And we are both people who love a restaurant meal...

Where is the romance?

So do you not celebrate Christmas, Anniversaries and Birthdays because Hallmark sell cards? Surely the day is what YOU make it and you don't need to be a slave to commerc1alism in order to enjoy the sentiment?

Agree that the worst time to go out for dinner or plan a weekend away has got to be around Valentines Day.

Agree that there's nothing more cheesy than a box of choc's and a bouquet of over priced roses.

Agree that you shouldn't leave it to one day a year to show your love.

But to make a little effort to do something personal and meaningful without bowing to the demands of consumerism is really not that difficult. Just takes a little imagination, some creativity and a liberal amount of love.

Enjoy the day and make somebody (partber or not) smile FFS! Like KK says, 'Feel the love, man.'

Love and kisses xxx

I love Valentine's day, but why oh why does it have to be slap bang in the middle of Lent when a girl has given up chocolate and confectionery? I think that I would love one of those super heart shaped glass pendants from the window of Moo Too - from the children's private swimming instructor at Dulwich College (sigh). James can buy me diamonds - I would never accept anything less from my smiling man...
I'll arrange for some flowers to be delivered (despite having to pay twice what I usually do for roses), stay at home and cook my wife a good dinner accompanied by a good bottle of wine. Afterwards - maybe a decent movie with coffee and chocs. A little quiet perhaps, but it's what we've done for 19 years. Routine and romance can go hand in hand (pun deliberate).
