I've been using facebook since it started - I don't think I'm "snobby" about it and nor was I comparing it to any other "social" thingy when I talk about the facebook likes being icky

I do think the quality of facebook has declined over the years as they crowbar more and more in there and if people are happy ignoring it fine but the amount of spam on there is making it less worth my while.

People liking their friends comments and pics seems fine

But for "likes" on a wider scale, this is worth a read

Hi Otta..

Not getting Snobby. Like I say they are two different entities.

I have serious concerns over Security issues with FaceBook.

I have read articles how accounts can be compromised and hi-jacked.

and people tend to give out too much info on FB.

I also know very few people that use FB. and those that do I can simply e-mail.

I can follow people on Twitter without either of us being on each others Christmas Card List.

There can be some security issues with Twitter. Mainly clicking on links sent to you in Direct Messages.

The same issues you get with e-mail.

Important to stay safe.

1. Do not announce your Birthday. Like "I'm 30 today" gives would be hackers your D.O.B.

2. Do not post your Full Address. Gives away your Postcode.

3. Do not post your Full Name.

Someone with your Name, Address, Post Code, D.O.B., e-mail are on track to steal your I.D.

Fox.

I'm amazed anyone curious enough to check their klout is capable of having a score of one, I thought you should probably get more than one ust for trying as a sort of metabonus.

I reckon try your off button, if you have one you're probably not real, and in a bit of a bind getting yourself turned on, especially if you are in fact the mainframe that runs this artificial construct we call existence; on second thoughts fageddaboutit and get yourself something nice on amazon, then review th vendor, that should double your score right there.

RE FB, I too have a fair few of my friends on off (not any on here I promise - mainly younger nephews/nieces and a few of my mates other halfs who I don't really know etc who update, like every hour, like) and doesn't the alogaritm tend to give you updates from people you've kind of been in dialogue with anyway? ....mmm, thinking about it I hardly ever get status updates from my missus

IDENTITY THEFT! SHRIEK!

If there's a whole in the news, a story about identity theft will fill it.

IDENTITY THEFT! CUSTOMERS OF NATIONWIDE MAY HAVE HAD THEIR SHOE SIZE AND DATE OF BIRTH LEAKED!! MASSIVE ALERT!!!

I gave my credit card number and ccv numbers out 20 times to complete strangers last month.

Concerns about Facebook not on radar.

Yeah, the gumpf in the google play/istore update will probably say,

"vastly improved performance, now you can do x with y like never before"

when what it should really read is

"now your app will be littered with spam and it is now almost impossible to scroll without accidentally requesting a spam mail or liking something you wouldn't touch with a barge poll much to your friends' amusement"

"now your app will be littered with spam and it is now almost impossible to scroll without accidentally requesting a spam mail or liking something you wouldn't touch with a barge poll much to your friends' amusement"

Now THAT is getting your excuse in first :)

maybe.

A quick look and of the first six items:

2 are status updates from forumites,

one being cute about her kid,

one doing his usual polemic about bankers (though it was funny),

one self inflicted spam (ruggerbeez that my kid goes to, you have to like their page to see a pic of your kid getting his didn't-you-do-well high five from the lady coach with the lovely bottom)

three are corporate links, probably from accidental likes by my friends.

Salesforce...who would 'like' salesforce on purpose,

Tough Mudder UK (?!?!) and

ShiteShirts (you know who you are!!!)

;-P

There are concerns ????, but I don't think moving to the North West and melting metal is the answer.

The picture accompanying the welder ad has also changed from 'a man welding' to 'a large-breasted blonde wearing a sports-bra with a welding mask in the background'.

    • Many thanks to the woman who looked after our old deaf Miniature Schnauzer who got separated from us in the park this morning. And thank you to the man who alerted us . My husband is very relieved and grateful. If any one knows who these people are please say thank you as he didn't get their names.
    • why do we think we have the right for the elected local council to be transparent?
    • Granted Shoreditch is still London, but given that the council & organisers main argument for the festival is that it is a local event, for local people (to use your metaphor), there's surprisingly little to back this up. As Blah Blah informatively points out, this is now just a commercial venture with no local connection. Our park is regarded by them as an asset that they've paid to use & abuse. There's never been any details provided of where the attendees are from, but it's still trotted out as a benefit to the local community.  There's never been any details provided of any increase in sales for local businesses, but it's still trotted out as a benefit to the local community.  There's promises of "opportunities" for local people & traders to work at the festival, but, again, no figures to back this up. And lastly, the fee for the whole thing goes 100% to running the Events dept, and the dozens of free events that no-one seems able to identify, and, yes, you guessed it - no details provided for by the council. So again, no tangible benefit for the residents of the area.
