i used to live in kentish town on leighton road - just around the corner from the forum. also a good live venue although now its the home of "the church" and "school disco" so less appeal. looking forward to seeing those random canadians.

have you read the post about the indie band at the herne on the 24th - its in the whats on section. they sound alright, will def get along and have a look.

yes...still off post.

I haven't seen it reviewed in the South London Press *ahem*, but I have got it and it's very good (though less creative than their spellbinding debut).

Darn, this is in danger of turning into the "I love Kaiser Chiefs" thread I was whinging about the other day.

Clare, Brixton is the Best venue in London in my opinion! They do actually roll chairs in occasionally for things like comedy (saw the fast show there a few years back, was odd seeing the chairs), but it's best for gigs, as you get a good view wherever you stand! Don't stand at the back though, as the sound gets a bit rubbish when you're under the upper circle!

Hope you have a top time! Who are you seeing?

Swiders, I saw Snow Patrol at The Forum last year, fantastic little venue!!! I loved the fact we were right near the front, and I got to the bar and back in the space of one song!!! :)-D

Sorry to be off topic.

clare, you can't be real?

every time i see ricky wilson and the gang staring seriously at me at the Elephant and Castle junction it just cracks me up.

having said that, i've probably seen the chiefs at more festivals than most bands. they were just everywhere in 2005 and 2006 so it was unavoidable really. good fun but def not "serious".

I'm just listening to it too. Got it in Peckham Woolworths. Love the Fire. Love the Academy. saw Guillemots there a few weeks ago. Do we need a separate thread for Indie lovers in ED?

Love Snow Patrol but his voice goes a bit wonky when live I think.

Of course they are and that's why you went back 4 years, I blame LM for setting a precedent and the medical profession for giving AM so much spare time. Haven't you got leeches to gather?

Good God! I started this one. Has it really been 4 years?

I dont post much now. Not since the mugging and my car being stolen and the burglary and the crack den raid next door and subsequent slaughter of all at 73 and the clowns on Peckham Rye and the rabid fox scare and the killing of Mrs Dobbin the lactating donkey by a psycho Dulwich Mother.....

.... but its a grand place to live.

    • Thanks all, our hope was (despite the diminishing estate) he would get on with it.  Progress is glacial, it's been two years since probate was granted, that's two cold and damp winters with no heating, and not surprisingly a pipe burst. He's blames the issues on the estate agent, who separately had a dispute with him, he had a wobbly when one of the beneficiaries spoke to the estate agent.  Separately he said it was the family's fault for letting the property get into a poor condition.  It was dated, but certainly not in poor condition. There are two five star reviews on Google, and five one star: ** WARNING** This solicitor firm has to be one of the worst I have encountered. The solicitor is prehistoric in his practices and will carry out work at his own snails pace, the fax machine he uses gets turned off at 2 pm and its near impossible to get him on the phone. STAY AWAY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, check the solicitors ombudsman, this firm has previous bad practice recorded.   Disgusting under no circumstances use this solicitor. For over 10 years he has not carried out the terms of a Will he has not re-invested money but has retained it.  He writes letters which are pure "Flannel" excuses for doing nothing.  You have been warned   shocking experience, delayed the whole process, told other side solicitors to not contact him as he feels pressured etc. never use.   Not fit for 21st century. No website, no email address, no electronic transfer. Very slow, very little communication.   Was not a pleasant experience dealing with this firm
