Can anyone recommend places to visit with very little children/toddlers that you can get to easily from East Dulwich (preferably by public transport)?

Ideally these would be things that you can do in a half-day - before or after a lunchtime nap.

We don't seem to last more than half an hour at home before we get bored, and we can't go to the Horniman every weekend!

Soft play at the National Army Museum - train from Nunhead, Peckham Rye or Denmark Hill to Victoria, then either walk from Victoria to the museum (approx 15-20 mins) or catch the 170 bus. Book tickets for the Kids Zone online - ?2.50. Can't go wrong!

Bus from East Dulwich to Burgess Park to visit the 1st Place Children's Centre - they have a sensory room there that can be booked for an hour for free which is great for babies / young toddlers, a nice cafe and the park itself is brilliant

Thanks for these, some great suggestions.

There must also be some places near the line through Blackfriars from Peckham Rye... ? The Wellcome Collection near King's Cross? (I seem to remember they have a rather exciting collection of forceps. Maybe in a few years time...)

    • However, some would particularly like to avoid reviews of the 'there are far too many mice'; 'the cakes are deteriorating badly' nature. If you consider that a 'Negative Nelly' response. My experience was that the hot drinks and the varieties of e.g. teas on offer, were generally a positive element. As were the staff serving.
    • The hare krishna restaurant is called Govindas and still going strong in Soho Street, a different establishment to the one that used to be (still is?) in Hanway Street. I must go back to Govindas some time
    • Its that time of year again, past Christmas day and late delayed cards are turning up. How late are your cards arriving ?  Last year I had one delivered 4 weeks late. Can that be beaten this year ?
    • Sadly, a lot of businesses didn't invite reviews on the EDF at that time due to a number of "negative nellies" that would take delight in posting unfavourable comments, often despite never being to the business in question.  No matter how good the place was, some posters would find fault that wasn't there "don't lile the colour of the bidet set in the private bathroom, avocado 😅" Can hardly blame businesses at the time for not wanting reviews on here, thankfully that has mostly changed now.
