It's true, they played their final gig in the beginning of November. I just found out and I am distraught.

But one glimmer of light, you can pre-order Chumbuwumba's ode to the Iron Lady www.chumba.com/thatchep.php and on a lighter note: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMrn2sTFBtc

Crass could have done well in advertising female depilatory products.

Quote from the Radio 3 World Stage at Womad in 2010 from a well dressed festival goer - well the music was fine but I didn't enjoy the politics. Clearly in the wrong place.

I expect they were hoping to smash the machine from within, Jez.

It must be annoying to have your one hit song misappropriated by a slew of non-groovy corporations, but I expect the MCPS and PRS reimbursement will be something of comfort to them during the dark years to come.

Discussions of Anarchy aside ( I am not an Anarchist BTW as too many of them seem to fetish cats ) I didnt care much for the chumbs personally, but given the corporate fuck up of EMI and the entire sorry Guy Hands tale, its a bit ironic they signed for them.

It was quite frankly unlistenable - if you were on acid at the time - truly disturbing _ though I cant fault Crass for their adherence to their outlook & brining in bands oin their own label. Gee Vaucher has branched out into art and its not bad.

Thatcher discussions have been shelved until she finally departs Im afraid

Pretty sure that was Best Before 1984. Did Stations not come out under a Labour government?

    • When you dig into the site, there's an ancillary domain also involved in the system: neighbourhoodalert.co.uk;  and one pointed to by the latter as an example, stayintheknow.co.uk, which seems to have been set up by Lancashire.  All three long validated by Nominet and with same registrar.    metengage_etc_whois.txt

Jan was friendly, prompt and informative throughout the process. He accommodated our requests and left the repair site spotless.  His mobile is 07905950686.
