Message from Southwark Rail Users' Group (SRUG)

On 9th December the new London Overground (also known as the East London Line, ELL) arrives in Peckham and Camberwell. The day before, the South London Line service is ended.

SRUG has over the last year been developing, with local users, its own rail map of our local rail connections to the Tube, showing how the new Overground service fits with our direct rail connections to central London stations. You might find it useful to have a look at this on: http://www.bellenden.net/SRUG-maps where you can download a copy.

The ELL goes to Clapham Junction. The line you're seeing is the West London line which starts at Clapham Junction to Willesden Junction with an extra 2tph which go on to Stratford via Camden Road. As they're both London Overground services, they're coloured orange.

The idea of building another platform at Brixton station on the clapham high st to denmark hill line has been repeatedly suggested, and not too long ago it looked like it might happen. Sadly it never did. It seems like such a waste - the line literally runs right by Brixton station already, and a stop there would link nicely with the Tube and Herne Hill lines, plus provide access to Brixton market, shops, bars, etc. Oh well.
