Hi there,

We are a young(ish) couple looking to move to East Dulwich/ Peckham (mainly around Bellenden conservation). We've seen some houses on Anstey Road, which we quite like but are a bit concerned about the speed bumps; is it used as a rat run? We have a baby on the way so would like to check if traffic and parking are issues around here. Any advice or recommendations you have would be warmly received. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the road I grew up on had the same problem, but it wasn't hugely disruptive. I guess the best was to tell is to check it out at rush hour some evening. Any other comments people have on the road in general still welcome :-)
Anstey Road is a nice spot but worth remembering that its very much Peckham, rather than East Dulwich (this isn't a bad thing). In terms of how busy the road is...the worst bit is the northern end between McDermott Road and Nigel Road as its on the rat run path through posh Peckham...to see it at its worst head down there during the evening rush hour...its not terrible but worth checking out

    • Thanks penguin  always wondered about that place and that’s way more info than I ever thought I would get  (used to live above a gun nut on friern road - he would tell me nothing)
    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
    • Did anyone actually venture in to that place? I recall it always being closed/very uninviting!
