Aquarius if your words are aimed at the likes of Loz and Mamaora Man, especially after their shameful performance on the Foie Gras thread, don't give up. They, and others like them, simply try to bully others off of the EDF so that can have it as some kind of forum for their own views, and woe betide anyone who raises a contary opinion. Don't let them have that pleasure. Speak wherever and other you feel you must!!

I am at a loss, is that the same thing?

It is aimed at anyone who feels strongly about something & is not being listened to....

Kind of like banging your head against a brick wall.

Fellow animal lovers like ourselves are never going to win any discussions on here because we are a small minority against a bigger majority.

But as the saying goes:

What goes around comes around.

Hmmm...... people will hear what you say (post) but does that mean you expect them to then agree with you? I think that is a tad naive - and passive aggressive posts about not being listened to won't help either. Probably the best thing to do is to put forward an intelligent, reasoned stance/argument and let others make their own minds up. The way some descend into abuse (I am not suggesting that you have) is an automatic fail and their credibility disappears in a puff of hot air.

Excuse me!! Who said I drink milk?!

I actually drink my coffee black, only drink herbal tea & when I do need milk, use Oat/Rice Dream.

It is full of vitamins & calcium, available from all major supermarkets, is dairy free & doesn't come from cows!

Good stuff! Glad to hear it. Just the quorn ethic to get over, and I'll respect your opinion on foie gras. Which would mean we agree in principle.

I stopped reading the foie gras thread some time ago (supporting a ban as I prefer to eat humanely reared meat). I would echo Voyageur's post Aquarius and say that those who overstep the mark in debates are there for all to see. Focus on your own arguments, keep them intelligent and based in fact and others will see that. Never get wound up by the minority of slightly deranged posters on here. It's just a forum (and all forums have them). For those few, many more read and can see who's being grown up, and who isn't :) x

Thank-you DJKQ.

I don't think I've ever overstepped any marks or been abusive or aggressive.

That's just not me as I'm into love & peace & all that!

But I do get frustrated and annoyed by certain posters & I have to stick up for my beliefs & for the animals x

I don't think you've ever been abusive or agressive either.....that's my point. Most people will always see an articulate point made, as just that. Equally they will see rudeness, abuse etc, for what it is too. You will probably find that many more people do share your views than the few that challenge them here.

aquarius moon - you haven't been abusive or aggressive. Nor do you have to justify to people whether you drink milk or not.

Most decent people who try to do their very best for animals/animal welfare, whether that is by being vegetarian or an ethical meat-eater are not going to get it right all of the time, but the point is, they do try.

You're not fighting a losing battle, there are others who do listen and even if they don't necessarily agree all the time, they hear you. Keep posting xx

I suppose a bit of abuse and public posturing is the price we pay for having an active forum. Unfortunately people like aquarius moon get an unfairly large bit of the stick simply because they are too nice to retaliate in kind.

I do hope that they'll keep on reminding us how we can do better, in spite of all the petty nastiness that's sent their way.

Actually I thought AQ was quite mean to me in this post

I DON'T think I deserved the tart response (see below)

Maybe you should return to your own thread & leave us, in this thread to mourn our losses.

First of all Lowlander makes an assumption that you drink milk, then after you put him right, he posts a very patronising response. Keep going aquarius, keep going and rise above the type of assumptions made by the likes of Lowlander (he's not alone in making sweeping generalistic statements by the way). If the likes of you or anyone else for that matter has a opinion which certain posters don't like, don't be bullied by them. This forum is not their property. Most of them post while they're skiing or snow boarding, because its so now darling.

You know that Oat stuff you drink - you do know what they use to fertilise the fields where they grow the oats don't you?

(Clue - a) hideously evil manufactured chemicals that cause havoc to the natural wildlife, b) that nasty brown stuff that only exists because of all the dairy cows (remember all those little boy calves who have to die...). Rice might be better, but I've never checked what country it comes from, so you might want to do a bit of research on what they use - it's pretty unlikely that anything that has been produced on a large scale hasn't had something to boost the fertility of the soil in a way that might make you uncomfortable.)

Actually you did deserve it because you were taking the p*** (as usual!)

It might have been a big joke to you, but not to the serious viewers who couldn't believe that Ella was kicked out instead of Rylan.

Not everything is funny!

Long gone, in the past & it's New Year,

So have a great one x

My post wasn't patronising. We're all making assumptions on this thread, and I admitted that mine was wrong. I made a mistake. And I posted an admission, because when the facts change, so does my thinking.

So you can take your assumptions and stick them in your pipe and smoke them :-)
