*Bob*
I'll play if it's French Cricket - you know - the one for kids where you're not allowed to move your feet. But the hard-ball-in-face/knackers combination is not for me. I'm a wuss. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2825-hello-forumites-its-cricket-time-again/page/2/#findComment-87077 Share on other sites

*Bob*
Sounds like Our Boys will have a ready-made cheerleading team. They'll need a chant though. Now let me think..Go Keef! kristymac1
Well it would seem that you have a ready made team - how are you about relatively new forumites joining you at the crease? I speak on behalf of my hubbie who bowls a mean over-arm and I bake a damn good cake. Peckhamgatecrasher
AnnajHave no fear - I have gone into extermination mode. The little (rather big actually) buggers will be no more by the first match.Let's put on a spread to cheer the chaps. Failing that, I do a rather nifty spin bowl. *Bob*
I beg to differ, Blinder. Writing for cheerleaders with special regards for pom-pom moves is not as easy as you might think.I shall colour-code the moves for you, so you can get a better idea of how it scans. Red = arms extended forward, 'punch' moveBlue = Body in star jump position, wrists shaking pom-pomsYellow = punch motion upwards.. final punch embellished with a shakeGo Keef! *Bob*
You've rumbled me.I use to have a career. Prospects. Standing in the community. A trade. Now all I can do is count how many minutes of my dismal music they use on ITV each week, multiply by 75 and wait for the paltry royalties to arrive.I blame it on Labour. Or is it the Tories. One of those two. Pah! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2825-hello-forumites-its-cricket-time-again/page/2/#findComment-87124 Share on other sites
blinder999
ITV? how the mighty have fallen. david_carnell
I might be up for a spot of cricket if you need extra players gentlemen. I have my own bat and everything. Although it's normally kept by the side of my bed waiting for intruders. Plus, really, I'm a bowler. Medium pace, bit of swing if there's enough of the green stuff. Nothing too strenuous mind you. Brendan
david_carnell Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> I have my own bat and> everything. Although it's normally kept by the> side of my bed waiting for intruders. Lol. I do the same thing but have been thinking about changing my choice of weapon as if I actually tried to swing a cricket bat inside my house I will probably only succeed in breaking light fittings and/or picture frames. Golf clubs are too unbalanced and cumbersome though and a tennis racket doesn?t have the weight. Skateboards make very effective weapons but I don?t have one of those anymore because I am apparently ?grown up?. I am starting to consider a rolling pin.? and perhaps some curlers. david_carnell
Rounders bat would be better. Same weight and ease of swing but shorter length would encourage use. That or a crossbow! Michael Palaeologus
Interestingly I will be at Lords on 17 May and so will be able to compare and contrast the experiences. At present the Sunday may be a happier experience than the Saturday. There is no way you will get me to play, but I will be happy transport the cheese scones, their makers and hangers on.Shouldnt our Medics bring along their magic sponges and Deep Heat sprays to ease the straining thews of our peak-of-fitness athletes?
