david_carnell
5. Me - although my birthday party is the day before so I may not be in a fit state to play. Perhaps I should be listed as 12 instead. LeonWatson
If there's any problem with players let me know and we might be able to help.We had our first game of the season yesterday. The standard of play wasn't exactly high but we had a great laugh.Cricket, sun and booze - what could be better apart from a Girls Aloud sex party? Keef
I'm in, although playing a gig on the 17th and it's going to be a late one (We're playing til gone 1am, and won't be able to get our stuff out til it all finishes), so like David I may be a touch groggy on the 18th...A coule of the CPT boys will be up for it, so I'll see who is in... I'll check with Dems, hopefully his team isn't playing that day... It would be a shame to lose him, as he basically took most of our wickets last year. Brendan
I don?t know a Girls Aloud sex party sounds a bit too athletic for a cricketer. Will there be any cake? Peckhamgatecrasher
If you don't want Annaj's and my offering, we'll flounce off and have our own tea party. What the hell is Mr Mac's bessie - the mind is truly boggling now. I have to work on the 18th and can't get anyone to swap with me (apparently "but the hopelessly disorganised, 8-man, cricket team from my local internet forum are playing against some people from the local press and I promised to bake cakes" doesn't impress when asking people to give up their weekend off!) Sorry :(Some slightly better news - I have managed to get a swap for the weekend that Keef's band is playing at the Plough (not that it has anything to do with this thread). I don't know, this pesky career does get in the way of a good social life. Moos
How bad are you guys? I could try to persuade Mr. Moos to play - don't think he's ever played cricket before so could be giggle-worthy? Just to add to the non-contribution from the Moos household I also can't bake cakes, but am more than capable of buying nice food and bringing it along. Peckhamgatecrasher
Here's a flounce for you, Brendan. Should look good at the crease and historically gave rise to overarm bowling!http://www.koshka-the-cat.com/queen/1873/queen4.jpg Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2825-hello-forumites-its-cricket-time-again/page/4/#findComment-99046 Share on other sites
Brendan
It did indeed. I for one first learnt how to bowl over-arm in order to avoid getting the ball tangled up in my petticoats. citizenED
With all those petticoats and lace perhaps we should be playing with the new pink ball.bessie is more like "bezzie" and sounds dead good in a scouse accent, or in a geordie one, kristiemac? mockney piers
Moos, we're a random mish-mash of talent and lack thereof, but it's all about running about for a laugh rather than fierce competition. If Mr Moos os willing to give it a go he's more than welcome.Throwing, catching and hitting a ball with a funny shaped stick can't be that hard can it? LeonWatson
Well, if that guy you had last year who wore the footie shirt is playing I might consider a helmet - he nearly took my head off at one point. We played on Saturday for the first time this year and it was awesome. Sod the cricket, it's all about the tea. My girfriend made some amazing cakes and one guy even chipped in with some home made pork pies. Genius.Have a look at the report in the news section of our website www.krcsc.co.uk. Keef
Yeah that would be Dems. He actually plays regularly, and is a fast bowler by teade. Shame he can't do every over really, we might stand a chance that way. Brendan
I may be able to recruit another decent bowler. He used to live in ED so I guess that qualifies him. I?m seeing him this weekend and will try to get him to commit to it while his better judgment is clouded with alcohol.
