Totters in wearing enormous high heel shoes. Snuggles into favourite aubergine arm chair next to window.

Ana bursts in through the door with four Vente latte's, and distributes same to DM and two boy chums. Looks around in search of Ms Shambles...

Sits back to absorb wonderful music.

Smiles adoringly at Mr Keef.

Points Ana towards the door.

Sniffs Pimms and almost expires in rapture - but sadly must not drink it as continues with Lenten fast.

Looks over Mr Capt Birdseye's shoulder and observes the web site he is on in horror.

Rushes to own laptop and conducts a quick search for Mr Batdog and Ms Shambles. Considers in a panic ... "have they run away together?"

*Gently prises DM's grip from the bottle and hands her a jar of pickled onions instead*

*Shows her CCTV of Shambles lurking in Sainsbury and Batdog on Goose Green roundabout - not doing any naughty business*

*Settles down in hammock with one eye on the lunchtime episode of neighbours*

*Admits to purchasing non Martha Stewart wedding magazine at weekend*

*Horrified by purchase*

*Mild panic sets in as magazine suggests 18 months are needed to plan wedding*

*Only has six ...*

*Asks DM if she can borrow her dress and whether she still has tiers of cake in the loft"

*Munches on strangely enjoyable concoction of chocolate brownies and pickeld onions*

*Decides to open loo window to gain ourselves an enlivening spring breeze, greeted by....*

*Hurriedly slams window closed, grips cistern momentarily to overcome vertigo, and then seeks out Keef to explain where I'm getting it wrong*

PS Piersy, it never worked, after I went back 5 times, it refused to accept the "/" existed in the post itself, but it always reappeared in the text when I went back to edit...

    • I was going through a huge box of old postcards today, and I came across a postcard apparently published by or on behalf of this forum, with three rather boring (sorry! Perhaps this was intentional!) photos on it. There is no name or date on it. Does anybody know anything about it? It must be very old, as I haven't opened this box for years! "You may have heard of it" 😂

    • Received this response from TFL today (15 October)   Thank you for contacting us on 1 October regarding the ongoing diversion of the P13 bus route between Rye Lane and Sainsbury’s, Dog Kennel Hill, since 29 September. You’re absolutely right that the diversion is due to Thames Water works in the area. While other traffic may appear to be flowing freely along Avondale Rise into Ivanhoe Road, our local Service Delivery Manager has confirmed that buses are unable to safely make the turn from Avondale Rise into Ivanhoe Road in either direction. This is due to the size and turning radius of the vehicles, which differs significantly from that of smaller vehicles. We understand that diversions can be inconvenient and appreciate your patience while this work is ongoing. We’re continuing to monitor the situation closely and will restore the usual route as soon as it is safe and operationally feasible to do so. Thanks again for contacting us. If there is anything else we can help you with, please reply to this email. Alternatively, you can call us on 0343 222 1234 and we'll be happy to help you.
