Duck egg

Well Greengod liked it enough to post about it and recommend it to everyone, he/she can't be 'wrong' because its down to personal taste. So say what YOU prefer, but don't phrase it like the OP is wrong.

I doubt the OP is now thinking "oh yeah, it was actually a rubbish breakfast - those clever EDFers just made me realise...doh !!".

You will also be aware of the British sea-front cafe technique.

Always sit in the window seat. You will get a larger diameter plate and a bigger portion.

I haven't been to the ED branch but had lunch in the Brixton one on Saturday. I thought ?4.50 was a little steep for a chicken and avocado sandwich which turned out to be just cooked chicken breast, slices of rather hard avocado between two slices of processed seeded bread that seemed suspiciously like Saisburys seeded bread that i buy for toast. No salad, no garnsih not nothing. Whilst not a bad sandwich, i would have been happy with it from a trad old style greasy spoon cafe for ?2.50, i expected a lot more for ?4.50

Haven't been in yet but looked at their menu in the window on Saturday and thought the prices were definitely at the top end for an ED breakfast.

The picture posted above hasn't encouraged me to venture in, I must say.

Greengod, when you say your brunch was "cooked just as I asked", what did you ask for?

Please don't think I'm being "funny", and fair enough that you thought it was good food, but how can you post that it was "value for money" if you don't know how much it was?

Sorry, I know that sounds rude but I can't find a more tactful way of putting it :(

    • Yup. At best I have people who detest Trump shrugging and saying something like “what ya gonna do?” Like that is any kind of answer what we gonna do is condemn, and watch out for same happening here - and watch out for all the handmaidens who would allow this to happen.  Apologists for Farage, Jenrick etc
    • There are plenty of Jewish people on these marches, who have every right to stand up and say not in our name. A Jewish bloc attends every single one: https://jfjfp.com/voices/jjp-at-the-gaza-demonstrations/ Jewish peoples lives are being made less safe by this war, as we recently saw in Manchester and in the clear increase in antisemitism. They want to see Peace, and this will only happen with justice for the Palestinians. Most have - within living memory - members of their families who have been murdered by an authoritarian regime. They know what they are seeing and why they are marching. Calling going on march 'indulging in Jew hatred' is just ridiculous. You've clearly never been on one. Engage your critical faculties and think about why these marches are being smeared, rather than spouting what the right wing press and home secretary tell you.
