I went there with some friends yesterday for lunch and while the food was fine, the service was pants. There were plenty of staff in there, but they seemed to lack any sort of organisation. The food took a long time to arrive, and not all of it made it to our table. There was a lovely spillage of sauce a few yards from us and the extra bread they charged us for, didn't turn up. We were going to have dessert but felt we'd have been there until closing time at the rate they were going.

We ended up going to the Dog yesterday, mainly because it was already well after 2pm (and 2 seems to be a watershed for food availability on a Sunday).

Yes, the main was indifferent, but the rhubarb crumble was better than average, full of lovely rhubarb, and one serving was more than enough for two.

So it could have been worse.

Going to check out the White Horse for next time.

Louisiana

Don't know about the White Horse but the Dulwich Wood House does a nice veggie roast - I had it on Sunday.

The Phoenix near Denmark Hill station also does a veggie option which is ok.

The Magdala usually does a Sunday bbq in the summer (hope they do it again this year) and that has a veggie option.

Hoorah for veggies!!!

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
