basically he is a career politician of the worst ilk who will say anything to save himself. He he on the gravy train of politics either here or the EU. He has no idea of the reality of life for the rest of us.

I think he is as bad as Cameron.

he is worse than Cameron - at least you know what to expect with teh Dave & his cadre of toffs.

Clegg has killed his party for a generation. That little taste of power is going to have to nourish them for the next score years. His performance over the past few days- the evasive answers, the wolly responses and finally, the exposure of his lies will hopefully kill him off as a UK Politico & free up his seat for someone else - anyone else.

Yes- as WoD stated, Clegg has a future in European politics- best fuck off now Nicky, if you have any shred of decency and honesty left in your slimy rotten soul.

I soooooo nearly started a "wot Nick Clegg said" thread yesterday.

But each time I started it I spat and cursed at the screen, anyway ....wot woodrot said.

Oh and wot *Bob* said.

Oh FEKKIN HELL I'M DOING IT AGAIN....CUNT CUNT CUNT

*wipes screen*

Oh, come on, they are are all as bad as each other. If Clegg isn't fit to be Deputy PM on the basis he covers for his colleagues and then quietly shoves them out the back door when they become aliability, then frankly none of them are. 'Cos they all do it.

Is this thread really about Nick Clegg, or is it a vehicle for another agenda?

Most attacks on Clegg seem to come from Tories or Labour who see him as an opportunity to undermine Liberal Democrats.

It's politics of the worse kind - no attempt to create policies or strategies for a better nation, simply smear tactics. It's small minded and destructive.

My annoyance is that tactics like that are an act of deception and manipulation - something that the readers of this fair forum really don't deserve.

    • Dishing the dirt is generally fine when it comes to politicians and in Farage's case he often deserves it but  nothing illegal  has been done. It is not illegal for him to give his partner a sizeable amount of money with which to buy a house and have it registered in her name. He is 64 years old and his partner is 16 years younger and so he most likely is making plans to minimise IHT. There is a sliding scale for IHT but basically a gift is free of IHT if the gift is made 7 years before the donor dies. Farage is 64 years old and his partner is 16 years younger. In 7 years time, if he lives that long, he will be 71 years old. Given that he smokes like a chimney and drinks like a fish, his odds on getting beyond 71  years may be pretty slim.  A similar  process is followed by the "bank of mum and dad"  where parents  give money to their kids to fund purchase of a property. Many who are not cash rich will mortgage their home and so release equity to fund their kids property. We did it as have many of our friends.
