They are right outside my window, as far as I can see its not the pub at all. It is the tennis club, usually they visit them because of out of control bonfires and thats late at night. I don't think this is the reason this time, I don't recall them having a bonfire last night, they usually smoke us out. Anyway, traffic a nightmare, police directing, 2 engines. Reeling back in hoses now, shouldn't be too long before its back to usual traffic..
Yes last night the Camber tennis club (where I am a member) clubhouse sadly burnt down as a result of a break in. I don't have any more details but it is devastating for the club and its members, especially with this being our centenary year with lots of events planned. Luckily the tennis courts are not affected so we can at least carry on playing!

Well, someone told me there were people in there still drinking at 1am! Not sure about a break in...... There was no fire at 3am or lights or noise - I was popping to the loo and looked directly at the building from the viewpoint the picture attached shows. I feel sorry for the coaches who may have lost their living due to perhaps a break in or someone's lack of attention to detail - only time will tell.

The firefighters were great - especially after the tea and toast I served. #civicduty. Go sign their petition to keep the stations open and LOCAL!

    • This is NEXT WEDNESDAY 11 June! Just turn up if you prefer not to give prior notice! The Palmerston from  7pm, turn left as you come in! (If you have been hiding under a rock, The Palmerston is the pub on Lordship Lane on the corner of North Cross Road).
    • Yes, at first I assumed that the bin men had taken flowering plants from my front garden while getting at my brown food bin, instead of reaching over the wall. I was very confused as I couldn't see any obvious gaps. Surely taking Toadflax from a resident's wall is not part of the council's remit? What next, are they going to come round and trim hedges in front gardens? 🤬
    • Oh, so that was the council.  Someone ripped some lovely flowering Toadflax from our wall and threw it in the gutter.  I assumed that a child had done it.  How strange?
    • Black open bag found on pavement on Goodrich Road this morning filled with electrical type items. Please message me if yours with description of what should be inside. Thanks
