I need to drive up to Liverpool tomorrow, collecting a friend in Muswell hill. I was going to go over London Bridge and through the city at about 7.30 am, but I'm not sure it will be possible.

Does anyone know which roads will be closed. I've tried looking on the marathon website, but can't really tell if that route will be affected.

LizzygotDizzy}}}}}} ran the marathon yesterday (time 4hrs and 58 mins) never again, no amount of training gets you ready for the actual slog, but the crowds are really nice and kept you going and handed out drinks and sweets all way round, although you were encouraged to take only from designated drinking stations as there are some sick gits out there! Raised over ?1,000 for the NSPCC, but very very sore today!

Thanks guys, think I'll actually start the training a bit earlier next time though! though no time soon! ah yes, now ibuprofen my new best friend! Thought I was a lot fitter than that, did a seriously funny wobbly leg dance as I crossed the finish line and my legs couldn't take any more, they had a mind all of their own and the buggers just refused to hold me up any longer.

Have to say I kind of got a bit carried away on the BNP thread earlier, (well my mouth got a bit carried away I should say) am a little heated at times and don't always think before I type! or shoot my mouth off! think I practically accused Kalamitykel of being a member of the BNP, will pm her an apology.

    • You don’t think there are right-wing politicians fanning this with rhetoric? Really?
    • No party is willing to tackle the "elephant in the room" which is the national debt. It is costing the country circa £100 Billion ANNUALLY to service that debt. That is more than the defence and education budgets. That debt burden has to be reduced which in reality means cost cuts. That means cutting back state pensions, index-linked pensions for civil servants and others such as police, NHS etc. It means cutting back on universal credit and cutting the number of people who are claiming benefits.
