wee quinnie
My turn today for the hangover from hell. I want to walk down to Barry Rd Stores to get some Resolve, but I think my chances of boking in the street are quite high. Bah! Peckhamgatecrasher
Just use a solution of salt and sugar. Or better still, add salt and sugar to a Bloody Mary! Brendan
I have tried the re-hydration solution we were shown as kids as an emergency treatment in case we were stranded somewhere and were struck down with diarrhea or food poisoning. (Why they taught us this stuff I have no idea) It is a spoonful of salt and a spoonful of sugar in a pint of water. Anyway the old hungover brain has in the past gone through the thought process of. ?I?m horribly dehydrated, let me try that magic solution they showed us at school.?Problem is it tastes foul and makes me want to vomit which kinda defeats the object. Brendan
When does middle age actually start? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3045-oh-ma-god-i-will-never-drink-again/page/2/#findComment-98434 Share on other sites
Peckhamgatecrasher
If you take three score year and ten as your starting point, I reckon its 32-38. I'm currently enjoying old age and just wondering which cruise to take. Brendan
All my grandparents lived well into their 90?s and my dad is currently pushing 80 with absolutely no sign of slowing down so I think the benchmark should be at least 4 score and ten. I will therefore refrain from thinking of myself as middle aged until I am at least 45 and/or I have children who are old enough to be embarrassed of me. Keef
I get the blackcurrant one. It's not nice by any stretch, but you casn keep it down.Once or twice I have done a pre-emptive strike and taken one before bed, and woken up feeling right as rain, but usually I don't have the wits about me for all that, and just pass out. Brendan
Ok but that resolve extra doesn?t seem to have anything in it that will re-hydrate you and restore your electrolyte balance. Keef
Diarolyte is what I have used in the past, Mrs Keef bought them for travelling, fortunately they were not required, and we discovered their other, much more useful, benefit. Pickle
When I lived in NZ a McD's cheeseburger and banana milkshake on the walk home used to sort me out. And then McD's for breakfast - "hot cakes and syrup"... a delicacy I don't think they offer in the UK, followed by a hash brown & hot chocolate. I was a really healthy specimen back then! ClareC
Brendan Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Ok but that resolve extra doesn?t seem to have> anything in it that will re-hydrate you and> restore your electrolyte balance. It really works though, its magic stuff! I was dubious when my friend told me of its powers - she had been given it by an airport pharmacist and claimed she was right as rain in an hour. We were both suffering on the day I tried the remedy (to the point we had to send a cab to the airport to collect another friend since there was no way either of us could contemplate driving!) We had to share a sachet as that was all that was left and we were in Sweden at the time where it is not available to buy. Half a sachet and Pirates of the Carribean was all it took for a full recovery! I always keep a box in the house now :-) DOnt think Resolve works the same way as Resolve Extra though!
