Brixton Academy - worst venue, but.....

John Mayer is doing a warm-up gig at Brixton Academy on Friday 27th June (he's supporting Eric Clapton in Hyde Park on 28th). As much as I loathe Brixton Academy (and that would be a lot), this is actually one gig that is seriously worth going to.

Tickets are on-sale this Friday but there is a pre-sale tomorrow at 9.00am

My guess is that it will go very quickly; he sold out 2 nights at the Albert Hall VERY fast last year.

Brixton was always me favourite venue, but in the last couple of years I've had some crap nights there. However, last time I went it was a lot better. It's still a hell of a lot better than Hammersmith Apollo and Shep Bush Empire, I hate both of those!!!

I LOVE Brixton Academy - brilliant atmosphere - good bars to drink before and after the gig in Brixton and then just a short hop on the 37 to get home - what's not to love! (apart from the overpriced beer, sticky carpets and very pushy drug sellers that is!)

Also love the Academy!!!! Some bad gigs but that was down to some bad choices on my part .... or being dragged to something I wasnt up for.... I'd have to say my worst venue is either Ally Pally or the Brighton Centre....
