I read a while ago that they periodically insert red herrings into maps, to allow them to detect any maps that have been directly copied. I seem to recall there was a town name somewhere in London that was Chinese symbols for a few weeks.

Yes mosts maps do this - the A-z has a through road that is a cul-de-sac.

hmm, garmin have my road (a through road) as two cul-de-sacs that don't meet.

most annoying as they keep telling me to do a u-turn.

Of course once I've hit the A3/4/40/41 etc I really should just turn the damn thing off.

There's so many mistakes in Google's Maps no-one would want to steal them!

"Bartlett Place", a genuine but misnamed pedestrian walkway in the london A-Z and will appear in future editions under its real name, Broadway Walk.

The Mistakes in Google maps - like leaving out Waterloo East Railway station and St Pauls Being south of the river cant possibly be trap streets!

I've had al lmanner of problems with apple maps but google maps has always been pretty spot on

Reported missing station to google and eventually they put it in. I am not appler.
