LizzygotDizzy
How horrendous, I read the newsreport on the couple on holiday, but how often have you seen half cut parents rolling out of the pub with young children in tow, I think it is awful and damn irresponsible and there should be laws against it, you can't be in charge of a car when you are drunk, so why are there so few laws or legislation against being drunk and in control of young children in the same circumstances? (especially toddlers and especially in public places) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3235-drunk-and-in-charge-of-kids/ Share on other sites

Michael Palaeologus
Surely the children were sober? Could they not hold the drinks? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3235-drunk-and-in-charge-of-kids/#findComment-100761 Share on other sites
dulwichmum
Was there no nanny? I blame the help. One simply can't get the staff! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3235-drunk-and-in-charge-of-kids/#findComment-100770 Share on other sites
Michael Palaeologus
I believe they had a Nanny but had left her at home locked in the cellar while they were on holiday as a cost saving measure. LizzygotDizzy
Well I have! a very obviously tipsy young mum one Sunday afternoon pushing a pram and dragging a toddler behind her! Plus have to say my parents were guilty of this too and were real heavy drinkers, especially on a Saturday afternoon and we practically had to carry them home at times, so it does happen Thanks Spadetownboy for the info. *Bob*
We try to be drunk and in charge of kids as much as we can. We find it helps. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3235-drunk-and-in-charge-of-kids/#findComment-100841 Share on other sites

*Bob*
It is interesting how these 'Mum' posts keep coming up. More small-scale evidence of how society saves its harshest moral judgements for women rather than men.. and mothers in particular. Ted Max
Have a bite of apple, Adam? It's all SirAlan's fault. Way harsher on the women than men on his programme. Women lying and cheating - "snakes". Men doing the same - "understandable over-exuberance of a young man - reminds me of a younger me" Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3235-drunk-and-in-charge-of-kids/#findComment-100852 Share on other sites
James
Surely the parents could have had the decency to provide some alcopops for their children? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3235-drunk-and-in-charge-of-kids/#findComment-100895 Share on other sites
citizenED
I'd be more worried about the people who are drunk when conceiving! *Bob*? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3235-drunk-and-in-charge-of-kids/#findComment-100993 Share on other sites
*Bob*
Sometimes that's a necessity too, C-Ed.Being no oil painting myself, I'm sure Mrs *Bob* will vouch for that.
