All - sorry for the plug but a recommendation for our decorator if anyone is looking to give their house a new lick of paint.

He has been great to us decorating both our home and a flat we bought recently. Pls PM us if you would like a more detailed recommendation.

Another huge recommendation for Severin. I found him on this forum and he's just done a bit painting job for me.

Not only are his rates very good, but when faced with lots of extra holes /flaky patches and a chunk f plaster that my husband had *ahem* helped to cause, he patched them up as good as new and the walls now look like they all have a full plastering job done on them!

He works like a trojan, is well priced and just gets on with it. Very highly recommended.

Another recommendation for Sev. I got a quote from him after reading this thread. He is excellent and I highly recommend, he has just painted and lined the living and dining room. Spent time on preparation so the walls look really amazing. Very nice guy, very reasonable - we will definitely be having him back to do other rooms in the new year.

I just wanted to revive this thread with another recommendation for Sev. He recently did a brilliant job on my hallway and bedroom. He then painted my parent's entire flat and they are very pleased with his work. Sev is hard working, reliable, reasonably priced and his attention to detail is excellent. I highly recommend him. His number is 07759 930 893

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
    • That was one that the BBC seem to have lost track of.  But they do still have quite a few. These are some in their 60s archive. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0028zp6
