paella people

a couple of years ago there were people selling portions of paella from huge pans at the Peckham Rye Park fete.

Does anyone know if they are still around or know of anyone else who provides paella for parties?

They are from No22 in Herne Hill - the lovely tapas restaurant.

Chris, the owner, also does outside catering and has been a fixture and these fetes for some years. Jolly tasty.

Its all frozen pre packed paella that they use in those giant pans outdoors. They heat it up first and then put in those pans for show. So do your own.

Spotted some of those huge paella pans for sale in a deli. I really want one but they're so expensive. Probably go way of rice-cooker/pasta machine tho ;)

Number 22's catering arm, Casa Paella, make the best paella I've tasted on the street food circuit, and they're local. All made from fresh ingredients using real stock, free-range chicken and quality rice. We used to trade next to them so saw the whole process.

Though i'm sure Iceland do a giant frozen foil tray the size of a wagon wheel, ready to be sold reheated on a "market stall selling food"

Some people like it that way, apparently.

Well if you know that about one you mention then fine,but know other mentioned in this thread use frozen as seen their overflowing bins with empty boxes in,and disgruntled smoking waiter confirmed it. End of. Continue paying stupid money for frozen street food! Or you could take an exciting pic of food . . . again z z z
