minder
Just watched the London Weather reporter on BBC news (while looking on here too) and I'm sure she said something like "temperatures will be in the mid teens" - well that's a new phrase to me. They then went back to the main news reporter (who had a big smile on his face) and then went on to the national weather. StraferJack
a quick google of the phrase: temperature mid teens shows it to be pretty commonplace. When I read the OP I thought "I've heard that LOADS of times" Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33114-bbc1-london-weather-reporter/#findComment-652680 Share on other sites
computedshorty
It was more acceptable when the temperature was in Fahrenheit, ? the temperature will reach the low eighties ?.That would suit me quite well, but I am willing to share it with those who are younger. maxxi
As has often been pointed out a lot of us use F for hot "Its in the 80s!"and C for cold "It's minus 3!" uncleglen
I've found that 61 degrees Fahrenheit = 16 degrees centigrade is a useful reference point. (btw it's supposed to be 79 F =26 C by Thursday.
