Curtains, did you really think I was trying to stay on topic? ;-)

But while I'm about it

The Ladykillers - Mrs Lopsided getting the better of the gang.

Midnight Run. Just a touch here but there's loads more good stuff.

OLIVER! - It's got everything sex, violence and great songs. I don't do karaoke but if ever I'm simultaneously drunk enough to do so and possessed of total recall and reasonable pitch and whatever else singers require, then put me down for 'As Long As He Needs Me' and 'Oom Pah Pah'.

I'll do others but I'm keen on Nancy's.

Goodfellas - just a great story and I love the scene where Michael Jackson's former manager takes part in 'whacking' Tommy.

Kind Hearts And Coronets - the 'twist' never gets old for me.

The Sound Of Music / Chitty Chitty Bang Bang / Mary Poppins - Nuns and Nazis, a flying car and musical confectionary, a magic nanny and a terrible banker +++ GREAT SONGS!

No disrespect to Sally Ann Howes, who certainly made a decent enough fist of it but I think everyone would have preferred Julie Andrews as 'Truly' in CCBB. Fact.

    • At the time of posting previously, we had no idea of the dates we would be having the children. The maths place - you pay for a course of lessons . The coding session would be good but you need to book well in advance. Also grandson has been doing coding since 6 years old. He now has a 'mentoring role' at his primary school as his knowledge of this subject is years above his chronological age. Dates are still up in the air as their father is trying to juggle leave from a new job in the north of the country.
    • why not have a pasty shop - we could have Cornish pasties, Jamaican patties, empanadas from all the different regions.... I like all three.  I'm still going to support the Chacarero family business, as I don't support chains, just as I don't buy anything from Gail's, Nero, Starbucks etc.
    • Thought it had been a fish and chip shop at one time?
    • Try Gentrification, those with more money than sense who constantly want something different, when pie and mash isn't good enough for them.  "Argentinian Cornish pasties" give3 me a proper Cornish pastie any day of the week, at least I'd be supporting something traditionally British.   ps. tin hat at the ready........................🤣
