Hi family room

Does anyone know where I can get some non-toxic nail polish? Preferably one with no or little smell to it.

I don't do my nails that often but when I do, my OH can't cope with the smell. It really makes him cough and wheeze no matter where I go in the house.

Thanks

D

You have my sympathies. I find painting my nails a very relaxing thing to do but my husband hates the fumes.

I tried a brand called Butter London which is meant to have less nasties in it and smell less bad.

I prefer the quality of the "toxic" ones though, so I just do my nails when my other half is away. OK who am I kidding, I have two small children and a full time job, so I never have time to do my nails = problem solved :-(

Hmmm, I used to buy it from Cowshed (http://www.cowshedonline.com/) but that was a while ago. A quick online search tells me that Boots sell some http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Brands-A-to-Z/Butter-London/ otherwise there are a bunch of online shops that sell it. Sorry not to be more help on the current stockists front!

From the Ingredients details on the Boots website pages for these two products:

Max Factor Glossfinity Nail Polish

I'm wondering what the perceived difference between the two is. Is it the n-butyl alcohol that's the main culprit? Most of the other ingredients they seem to have in common.

Thanks everyone forward all of the suggestions

Ianr - you are right, there doesn't seem to be a difference between the two.

I am taking a look at Suncoat which has far fewer ingredients:

Aqua (water), polyurethane, acrylate, copolymer. May contain mica (CI77019), iron oxides (CI77491, CI77492, CI77499), titanium dioxide (CI77891), ferric ferrocyanide (CI77510), chromium oxide (CI77288), carmine (CI75470).

Will have a look at Only fingers and toes right now over a cup of tea :)
