I have a nearly nine year old girl who still wets the bed, only spared by lifting which i dont think is doing her any favours as shes not fully awake or even aware in the morning! Its starting to get her really down, a recent camping trip was fairly hellish!

We attended a clinic a couple of years ago with no improvement

Ive never used an alarm but considering it. Any Advice gratefully recieved!

Thanks

I used the alarm with my eldest although he was a few years younger. It did work as sometimes the problem is that the child is too fast asleep to wake up and go. I used it with a chart showing which days were dry - acts as an incentive as will show more and more dry nights. Good luck!
I have a member of my extended family who was not dry at night until they were 15. There was nothing physically or emotionally wrong, they just wet the bed at night. They found it beneficial to give her a period of rest with padded pants for a few months and then try again. HTH
I also was given an alarm as a child and found it didn't work because by the time it went off and woke me I'd already wet the bed! My mum used to get me up when she went to bed and I never drank anything after my tea (or too late)I gradually grew out of it and the doctor told me when I started my period this for some reason would likely stop it completely which it did, though by the then it was more rare anyway. I'm not sure if there is a 'cure' as such. Both my cousin and apparently my grandad wet their bed until they were older than I was. Sorry if its not much help. The best thing my mum ever did was not make a fuss about it and I therefore never felt it was embarrassing or something to be ashamed of! X

    • I would recommend the Dulwich Test and Service centre that used to be in Hindemanns road and then moved to the little Trading Estate off Tyrrel Road. I've used them very happily for nearly 40 years. Paul and Reg Shires.
    • Such a shame as Dells is fantastic - a decent local business providing a great service to residents.
    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
