Don't understand what you are asking.

Are you requesting making an appointment for a Surgery?

If so we would have to know who are listed there.

This would show who attends often and might be a bit invasive on your private life.

If an appointment list was made how could it be linked or enforced.

Requesting an app for smart phones and tablets - I use my iPhone to view site and I always have to zoom in and it's annoying - I don't think it would leave anyone out just make it easier to use and post for people who are on the go rather than computer/ laptop access

I think it should be accessible for both?

Just seeing what people thought, and yes not everyone knows what an app is but most people do - I just think site is easy on a computer or laptop and maybe more difficult on mobile/ tablet?

Interesting to see arguments for and against

There have been a few threads on this - short point is the version/software the forum runs on doesn't easily support custom apps or preexisting apps like Tapatalk. So not likely unless the forum admins take the major decision to change the software, or someone with major coding skills steps up.

Even if it was technically feasibile to build iOS and Android front ends, the development cost would surely be in the tens of thousands. Not to mention ongoing maintenence/support.

But if you're offering your own skills or money, then I'm sure admin would be glad to hear from you.

I think I did back of fag packet sums of development costs vs likely sales.

They didn't add up, it would need to be a labour of love, not to mention the dubious T&Cs of App store etc.

An android app might be more feasible but it would still need to be a labour of love.

A HTML5 designed with mobile in mind would probbly be the easiest, but as already mentioned phorum doesn't have a decent API so a bespoke one would need to be written.

Bottom line, not going to happen.

On the phorum site they have a mobile template for download. No idea how easy integration with current host would be but a quick scout around other phorum sites suggests that if the Derby Writers Association can do it...

By the looks of things that's a plugin on existing functionality, serving up a different look when it detects that it's a mobile version of a browser or mobile os. Can't see the gubbins as work blocked, but probably mostly CSS differences and maybe some custom javascript stuff.

Not exactly a native app, but as I said making it look better on a mobile browser would be a much more effective way forward, as it's only barely usable on a phone, especially scrolling around the text box on a long post and finding the damn post/preview buttons.

    • its based on the income  the [to be x] freeholder will lose - ie the ground rent and any service charges. Unless D Estate follows different laws to everybody else.
    • Hi everyone. I’m currently in the process of buying a house on the Dulwich Estate with ~86 years left on the lease. I’ve found it quite hard to get clear information online about the realistic cost of buying the freehold from the Dulwich Estate. I was wondering if anyone here has experience dealing with the Dulwich Estate and, if so, roughly how much it cost to purchase the freehold. I know it will vary depending on the property, but even a ballpark figure would be really helpful so we can decide whether the purchase makes sense for us. Thanks very much in advance.
    • It looks like a tap for the gas lighting that used to be found in those homes. The little tap would regulate the flow of gas to give a brighter or dimmer lamp. It's probably not part of any gas feed now and you can check that for yourself by following the gas pipework from your meter (which should only run to the kitchen to supply a boiler and cooker). Next time you have your boiler serviced, ask the engineer to have a look for you.
    • Another strong recommendation from me from Peckham Rye area. Paul sent Damian to sort out our tripping sockets. We’d had another electrician come and try to fix it a couple of weeks earlier who was not good, but Damian was extremely thorough and methodical in diagnosing the issue and fixing it. He tested every socket to make sure the problem was sorted. He arrived bang on time and talked me through exactly what he was finding and how the problem had likely come about as he went. Very polite, friendly and excellent value for money. Wouldn’t hesitate to call them again if we need an electrician. Great team,  great service!
