Anstergirl
Not sure this is at all official painting, seems more ad hoc and impromptu.I live on FHR and I like them! There was a plan from Southwark council last year, which we all had through our doors, saying they would paint them black again. ( This was part of larger "traffic calming" measures. ( taking away parking spaces, really.) I know several neighbours wrote back to council to say they liked the colourful bollards. So we DID vote for this! DulwichFox
It starts by painting a few bollards and ends up like this..Southwark Council is allowing a few vandals to turn E.D. into a Ghetto.http://cdn.onextrapixel.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/elizabeth-street-nyc-graffiti.jpgFoxy Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/34714-bollard-painting-outside-the-coop/page/2/#findComment-666448 Share on other sites

Nigello
I live near to FHR and have seen the bollards in their latest colours and when they were a lot less "accomplished"; they're better now. What cheeses me off about that stretch, though, is the higgledy-piggledy pavement. Can't the council pay for it all to be finished in a uniform way? And is there any way that that blue and yellow shop near the barber's could be spruced up a bit? HopOne
I think they look great. As for the electricity substation by the bus stop - that is a truly wonderful example of public art. I find it hard to believe that anyone would prefer the plain brick eyesore to look at. Still, takes all sorts to make a world... Earl Aelfheah
Instead of using ?greener, safer, cleaner? money to spray paint some bollards, why not replace them with some raised beds, containing real flowers. Or, plant some trees in their place? That said, I prefer them painted than plain. Jah Lush
I saw the bins being painted the other day. They are an eyesore outside the shop but at least they'll look better with a bit of artwork on them. Kinda blend in with the bollards.
