bon3yard
Dull, dull, dull I know but I've been staring at this for an hour now and am none the wiser. I'm trying to update my CV and only have it as a pdf file, there dont seem to be any tools to edit it. Any ideas? M. Jeremy
Have you tried googling for PDF Editor? But you'd probably just be better off copy/pasting it into Word. keano77
It would depend whether your PDF file was saved as an editable file or not. You should be able to edit it in photoshop, illustrator or adobe if you have those. If it's not an editable file (ie, the fonts are embedded) you can still edit it by placing a text box over the paragraph or sentence you wish to update and retyping new words in the original font, although you'll be constrained by the original sentence/paragraph length. Then resave the file.If you don't normally use the above programs there may be no alternative but to start from scratch with a simple word file. bon3yard
I was afraid you might have to download a dedicated piece of software along with all the potential pitfalls that brings. Thanks Jack. DulwichFox
Download Adobe Reader from Adobe Free. http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/ You will not be able to create New PDF Documents but will be able to convert existing PDF documents to Word Format. bon3yard
Thanks for the advice everyone, I think cut and pasting it into word seems like the easiest option. M. right-clicking
For future reference or anybody else struggling.....PDF are a proprietary format owned by Adobe, to edit you need access to Acrobat, either online or as a standalone program. There are other open source alternatives. https://www.acrobat.com/createpdf/en/home.html?trackingid=JPZKM Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/34781-editing-a-pdf-file/#findComment-666130 Share on other sites
