Back at you... I just mentioned getting supplies BEFORE the pub crawl in as I have many times woken up only to find neither carbohydrate, fruit juice or animal fats in the house.. I'm determined to have a good breakfast on the go tomorrow. And that includes some Brasil from Monmouth Coffee

But if this water situation gets worse, tomorrow will be hell

They are up and running. Joined them up at the Canning for the off, but with two little ones in tow I was never going to get very far. At the start line was Brendan, Floating Onion, annaj, Hannah6_6 and Sean Mac. fare thee well, honourable forumites. Onwards and downwards I expect.

I had a lovely time last night.... well done to Brendan for leading the crusade! So nice to catch up with people again - and well done to Indiepanda for leaving the boxes behind and venturing out - hope you will be out at the next forum drinks!

I think the group managed George Canning, Hoopers (who opened up just for them), the Gowlett where I joined, The EDT, the CPT and then a return to the EDT.... a noble effort, but plenty of opportunity for a second attempt!

Having took my leave at about 8ish to catch Andy Parsons at the Hob ( I was still drinking, I wasn't cheating) , I returned to the EDT about 12:30 or so - and found a few remaining hardcore. Everyone was in fine fettle earlier in the evening and I wish I had chance to catch up more - but hat's off to Brendan for leading the way. Glad to hear Indie made it out as well...

Madness indeed, but there is pictographic record in the hands of Hannah, who did indeed stand on a table.

I wimped out after the CPT, which was late enough for me and having had enough Guinness.

Lets not forget that on 17/8 we have Huguenot's Eliminator Pub Crawl - personally I may lunch at the Jerk Chuck Cook Off and then pub crawl.

LETS SMARTIE PARTY!!

Well what can I say between the sun shining, sunshine o?lock pimms at the edt, excellent company, long chats about horizontal slappage and a fairly rough indian afterwards we had a brilliant night!! We too legged it after the cpt as we were starving and knew we had a day of furniture moving and collection today!!

Wont be at the one on the 17th as there are far too many pubs on that one but so pleased we came yesterday and had a wicked time!!

I will be very interested to see Hannah's pics, very interested indeed..

@DC - dont forget my pressie!!

Really cool to meet everyone on Saturday evening, gave me a lovely break from the unpacking and made me start to feel nicely at home in the area, totally justifies my decision to move here. Hoping to make the Gowlett on Friday too, though will have to work out where it is first!

If I seem quiet this week, it's not because I've been scared off! It's because I am internet connectionless at home and can't post much from work :-(.

We were somewhere around Goose Green on the edge of East Dulwich when the booze began to take hold. Any intentions of only one drink per pub being abandoned as mean spirited, unsustainable and silly about ten seconds after the first drink of the day was finished.

Our intrepid group, growing in numbers with every tavern we visited, arrived at the Gowlett at some stage in the afternoon. Here, lulled by the background chirping a childish bickering over diet coke, we were regaled with tales of horizontal slappage while we relaxed in their sun-trap back garden. It was around this point that I realised that the ten o?clock speaking rubbish watershed was going to have to be moved forward a good few hours for the day.

We arrived at the EDT no later or earlier than the time of our arrival. By this stage our numbers were quite substantial and all seemed in full flow.

Next was the CPT where, having partaken in an elegant sufficiency, I made my leave. What you lot got up to after that I couldn?t possibly say.

So 5 different pubs in one day, schedules and plans strictly ignored and a whole lotta fun. Nice to see everyone. I had a great time.

If we're going to do the 17/8 I'm going to have to start lining my stomach now. With Ronseal perhaps.

    • I wonder where he could be deported to, Hungary the obvious candidate in Europe, perhaps he would get on well with Modi?   Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch and Reform UK leader Nigel Farage both said Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood should look at whether Abd El Fattah's citizenship could be revoked to enable his swift removal from the UK. Farage said in a letter to Mahmood: "It should go without saying that anyone who possesses racist and anti-British views such as those of [Mr Abd El Fattah] should not be allowed into the UK." So just racists views are ok Nige?

    • If it's the same one I'm thinking of, it was a little further down the road towards LL, probably where the Fresh Flower Company is today. I'd forgotten all about it, with good reason. I think it disappeared before Blue Mountain opened and became a pizza place? I once bought a carton of milk from the deli and when I opened it, it was solid. I did get my money back though.
    • But when was it posted?! I haven't posted any this year. I can't bring myself to pay the exorbitant cost of the stamps, and at least I can sort of honestly blame it on illness. If I can't hand deliver them, I send e-cards. I know it's not the same, but it's very much easier. And as for the people who still send pages of closely handwritten letters .... very admirable in terms of the hours it must have taken them to write them,  but they remind me of those spoofs eg x has just passed all their many important exams with the highest marks possible, y has just walked round the world in a week, z has just become the first person ever to be knighted twice, we are about to fly off for our fifteenth exotic holiday this year ....... Or else (or sometimes and) they are full of who has had what illnesses and accidents and other catastrophes. Is this just my relatives and distant friends? Am I somehow attracting these reams of handwritten paper?
