Welcome MO PO. 5 year deal, I give him til Christmas.

Hopefully he'll help kickstart Lamela and Soldado's spurs careers and bring some of the young talent through- particularly Alex Pritchard.

Vertonghen has committed to the cause, hopefully Lloris and Eriksen will do the same.

it goes through lulls, and god knows we've been responsible for predicting 'this time..'

I mean there's plenty of life in it, its just there's not alot interesting to engage which is giving us regulars apathy which has crept here too.

I mean Glazer dead and nary a peep?!?

Anyway, come the world cup hopefully we'll all cheer up a bit!!

And I meant it with love, not scorn really

If I was a spurs fan I would be excited about this appointment too. But would I be confident? A great job at Southampton to be sure (although he inherited a pretty good squad), and there have been boardroom shenanigans to navigate there as well but, but.

Levy + a not majorly experienced manager at top level? Could turn out to be another Brendan Rodgers* or could turn out to be yet-another-spurs-manager

* I harbour some doubts as to wether Brendan Rodgers will be so well regarded this time next year

Personally I think the jury is out on Roy Keane - he failed at Ipswich but got a promotion at Sunderland. I'm not sure I want him but I'd prefer him to Coyle who turned it down before. Other more ambitious targets are also likely to say no.

In the 1980s Celtic were finishing 4th and 5th in Scotland - the job has to be done and done well. Only fools take success for granted.

Keane's bumpy ride

Sept 2006: Inspires Sunderland to a 2-1 win over Derby in his first game as manager.

March 2007: Leaves three players behind when they are late for team bus to Barnsley.

April 2007: Carlo Edwards scores a great winner over Burnley to put Keane on course for promotion and title.

April 2008: Premier League survival ensured with a 3-2 win over Middlesbrough.

Oct 2008: Sunderland fans dance in thestreet as they beat Newcastle for the first time in 25 years.

Nov 2008: Keane says he may quit after abject 4-1 defeat by Bolton. He walks away four days later.

I'm not convinced by the idea of Pochettino at Spurs. His famous double training sessions might have gone down well with the young aspirational Southampton squad, but, the likes of Adebayor will be less keen. I guess he could ship a load of players out and bring in a fresh batch; wouldn't that have an element of deja vu for the fans?

I agree that Pochettino did well at Soton but didn't perform miracles. They weren't doing too badly when he arrived and they had a habit of producing great young players that bigger clubs poach long before he arrived. If he can take one or two of them with him that would help - and he should get shot of the Billy-Big-Bollocks.

Wish we had him though.

Thats because he was/is and always will be a c**t. He's good at breaking legs though. Prick

Is ending an opponents career by busting someones leg on the pitch really necessary?

    • https://www.assistancedogs.org.uk/information-hub/assistance-dogs-emotional-support-dogs-and-therapy-dogs/   hello   i’d be interested to understand if anyone.has experience of Assistance Dogs especially for autistic children of different ages for emotional support and therapy   There was a prior thread on this topic on EDF 10 hrs ago but it had limited experiences and there was a (claimed) change in UK legislation in 2019. Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
    • Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal. Could you please check sheds, garages, or anywhere she might have got stuck please? And if you could keep an eye out or share on any local groups/forums, we’d really appreciate it. Photo attached.   Thanks so much! My name is Jeff on 07956 910068.
    • Colin.    One for the old school.   Just saying.
