Exactly that RD - don't want to get all unnecessary to find Allardyce has been offered a new contract.

Sorry Teddy has gone but wish him luck as Stevenage Manager - his leaving means we need an attack-minded or at least attack-savvy manager.

If rumours are true Benitez is possibly going to Real so Bilic is front runner but might be too Bolshie (Independent) for SulliGold - wasn't too disappointed that Moyes ruled himself out - hope the McClaren rumours are way off.

Apparently they are trying hard with Klopp but can't see that happening. Oh, and Seville boss Emery is 'in talks' for the post - but then so is everyone*.

Bilic or Emery would be good.

*except Garry Monk AqM :)

So it seems Rogers might keep his job, what do people think?

It's a difficult one for me. We've really missed Sturridge, and that's no one's fault, but the signings have largely been bloody shocking.

I feel REALLY sorry for Ricky Lambert who must go to bed every night wishing he'd stayed put at the saints. Balotelli provided some entertainment, but does not fit Roger's style (which begs the question why he was brought in in the first place).

Dejan Lovren (who I admit to having high hopes for) has basically been shit.

And RD, do you reckon DiMaria will stay at United?

And will Walcott stay at Arsenal???

Sterling can jog on.

Last season Liverpool did a Spurs. Bought nine players, most of whom turned out to be flops. It can take time for young foreign players to settle, old ones too in some cases and some that never will and get shipped back out again as will be the case at WHL.

At Spurs it was Baldini and Levy's fault in paying for seven players most of whom have turned out to be duds. At Liverpool the buck stops with Brendan Rodgers. I think he should be given another season but with someone like Jurgen Klopp available it must be tempting for the owners to pull the trap door on him.

Just seen that West Ham have won place in the Europa League via the fair play rules. Ha! Apart from a new manager you'll need to buy double the amount of players you were already thinking of buying just to cope with the extra games. Your season starts 37 days time so good luck with that.

It seems to have been years that he's wanted to be the centre forward, and yet Wenger has never really trusted in him enough to give him a run at it.

RE Liverpool, Klopp wants a 6 month break, so let's see how Rogers starts the campaign then replace in January if necessary...

Watch Falcao go to another club and start scoring for fun. I can see City, Chelsea and Arsenal adding to their squads , as they have guaranteed CMPL football next season and as such will be attractive options to top players, and can't see beyond those for the title. Sterling will do a Shaun Wright Phillips and his career will nose dive. Liverpool ? More of the same

Thanks. I had a small bet on it too :)

From the BBC Gossip page, Klopp has abandoned his idea of a 6-month break. I hope he doesn't end up at LFC...I like the guy!

    • The current wave of xenophobia is due to powerful/influential people stirring up hatred.  It;'s what happened in the past, think 1930s Germany.  It seems to be even easier now as so many get their information from social media, whether it is right or wrong.  The media seeking so called balance will bring some nutter on, they don't then bring a nutter on to counteract that. They now seem to turn to Reform at the first opportunity. So your life is 'shite', let;s blame someone else.  Whilst sounding a bit like a Tory, taking some ownership/personal responsibility would be a start.  There are some situations where that may be more challenging, in deindustrialised 'left behind' wasteland we can't all get on our bikes and find work.  But I loathe how it is now popular to blame those of us from relatively modest backgrounds, like me, who did see education and knowledge as a way to self improve. Now we are seen by some as smug liberals......
    • Kwik Fit buggered up an A/C leak diagnosis for me (saying there wasn't one, when there was) and sold a regas. The vehicle had to be taken to an A/C specialist for condensor replacement and a further regas. Not impressed.
    • Yes, these are all good points. I agree with you, that division has led us down dangerous paths in the past. And I deplore any kind of racism (as I think you probably know).  But I feel that a lot of the current wave of xenophobia we're witnessing is actually more about a general malaise and discontent. I know non-white people around here who are surprisingly vocal about immigrants - legal or otherwise. I think this feeling transcends skin colour for a lot of people and isn't as simple as, say, the Jew hatred of the 1930s or the Irish and Black racism that we saw laterally. I think people feel ignored and looked down upon.  What you don't realise, Sephiroth, is that I actually agree with a lot of what you're saying. I just think that looking down on people because of their voting history and opinions is self-defeating. And that's where Labour's getting it wrong and Reform is reaping the rewards.
