That's not too bad for pay as you go, no membership fee, just book turn up and play. Fiver each a week (if you only play once a week) for 40 mins run about. Price of a pint almost.

If you play more regularly probably worth joining and it's cheaper (free possibly) for the lights.

Dulwich Squash Club has a joining fee and you still pay for the lights at times when you can actually play.

Agree to disagree! It's certainly the most expensive I've ever seen. The one at Brixton Rec is ?6

bloonoo, there's a meetup.com group (http://www.meetup.com/Fun-Friday-Badminton-Club/) that plays at Harris Girls Academy on Fridays. It's billed as open to players of all levels, 6 pounds per person. They seem to be pretty full up unless you get there early, but the organiser told me recently that they're looking to expand to have a second venue in the area in October.

I don't know anything about the one at Harris Girls on Mondays and Saturdays though, anyone have additional info about it?

    • You can get a card at the till, though, to get the discount. You don't have to carry it with you (or load it onto your phone), you can just get a different card each time. Not sure what happens if they notice 🤣
    • Yes..that may be the case but membership STARTING at £115 a month is still unafforable for many. Council gyms also have a large range of equipment and I had a  PT at Dulwich leisure centre when I was in Full Time employment who was incredible and even kept in contact during lockdown giving me a program I could do at home and checking in weekly at no charge or personal gain for herself. I dont doubt that Fit For may be a good gym (Its been in situ long enough so must be doing something right) However the cost of membership means it is affordable for the few not the many. If I could afford that kind of fee I would rather get a train to Canary Wharf and go to Virgin active where theres a pool and incredible classes and facilities
    • This sounds great 👍
    • We found a red TREK bike yesterday that had clearly been stolen and dumped. Would love to reunite it with its owner. Get in touch if you know whose it is.
