Front driveway work/landscaping

Hi there

Does anyone have a recommendation for a landscaper/builder for turning their front garden into a driveway and garden? I know all about the dropped curb application process, etc, but am looking for someone who can advise on design and do the work - has anyone done such a thing in East/West Dulwich? Thanks

Hi we just had a new driveway from www.affordabledrivesandpatios.com and are pleased with it. We are probably going to have them back to relay our patio. I didn't actually meet the guy (John) but my partner is quite hard to impress and he rated him.....

Can you do this without permission, I thought southwark had restricted the paving of soil due to drainage issues, in particular flooding problems?

You do need permission to lower the kerb.

But I have not heard that you need planning permission to change the front garden. Where did you hear that from?

I do know that a couple of years ago or more there was serious flooding in parts of ED around Hindmans and Uplands Roads and there was talk about reducing the number of people who were changing their front gardens into concreted drives as the flow off of rainwater was adding to flooding. Not sure whether you have to get planning permission - perhaps James Barber will know.
