What's happening to ED police station

I was just wondering if anyone knew what the plan was for the currently boarded up ED police station? It's such a large building it would be wonderful if it became a new community centre or an independent cinema. I fear it will probably be knocked down and flats built which would be a real shame. It could be used to as a great focus point for the ED community.

It's for sale isn't it? Will undoubtedly be bought be developers and turned into flats.

A planning search on the Southwark website returns 1 result for 173 Lordship Lane which was for electric gates in the 1990s. Nothing more recent however. How long has the station been vacant for, roughly?

The site is already looking very tatty. There's a scrawled sign for removals that's been tagged up, lots of rotting planks of wood and the ubiquitous urban flotsam and jetsom of crisp packets, pop cans and cigarette boxes. If James B knows of which body is in charge, could he get them to keep it looking decent. Thanks.

A very interesting site. Likely to attract interest from mixed-use/residential developers. Somehow I don't see much of the original building surviving.
