Don't give up!

It may just need to dry out naturally. When did you spill the water?

I spilt wine all over my partner's laptop, there was a hideous noise and it stopped working, including not turning on. I was told by a computer "specialist" that it was beyond repair (for which advice he charged me thirty quid). I had to buy my partner a new laptop :(

I gave the old one to somebody for parts.

He took it apart and cleaned it (only because wine is sticky, you wouldn't have the same problem with water), and apparently it is now working absolutely fine.

Water damage can have variable results..

The Main problem / damage is done when turning on the device before drying it out.

What ever the outcome, it should be possible to recover your pictures from your hard-drive.

I do not have the necessary Leads to do that task.

As suggested earlier, try Netquest.

    • Just had three areas of damp expertly dealt with by JKA Damp proofing & Plastering. Each area had a different cause and Jonathan diagnosed and explained the problems comprehensively. The family firm then carried out all the necessary repairs having prepped each area meticulously. The work was done to the highest standard and then everything was cleared up beautifully. I would wholeheartedly recommend the firm if you have damp problems!
    • hi Tom I'd ask a teenager. I'd lend you mine but they are asleep.  Pop into a phone shop and ask for help with it. It's quite straightforward, but easier once you know.
    • I switched from one samsung phone to another Samsung phone about a couple of years or so ago. Now I may be misremembering but what I think I  did was to 1. Open a samsung account which gave me access to Samsung's cloud. 2. Uploaded what i wanted to transfer to new phone to the cloud. It gives a choice of which categories to upload. 3. Log in to samsung on new phone then download stuff from cloud onto new phone. I was very hesitant but I remember it was quite simple and straightforward, I surprised myself. I do keep all photos and documents on other clouds which means I can access the same file/photo from different devices, and agree with Sue about accessing emails. Good Luck!
