I didn't say anything bad about spam. I was expressing surprise that it was popular in Hawaii. Eaten with everything, any way you like. Curried, sushi, etc.RTFT in future. Yum. Maybe Jamie Oliver could resurrect it for his money saving programme. *Bob*
Mashed tinned salmon (with a bit of vinegar in it) and cucumber sandwiches have made a comeback here of late. One must wait for the half price tins though, to be thrifty. Balsamic vinegar is the only upgrade. Otherwise, the dish remains unchanged from being 7 at my Nan's house. Jeremy
I HATED spam fritters at school. Still can't stand that horrid salty rubbery nastiness (I've not actually eaten spam in years, but that's how I remember it). What with the minging spam fritters followed by disgusting rice pudding, I'd often sit there all lunch time refusing to eat a bite. I begged my mum to give me sandwiches instead. I'm really not a picky eater, but there's a line I won't cross. *Bob*
Actually that's not quite true on the upgrade front. I'm sure the spread of the day back then would have been either Vitalite or - worse still - Stork.
