Are you a woman who loses weight for the summer and then puts it all back on again at xmas?

Recommended Posts

Hello - I'm a local forum user and freelance journalist who is putting together a story for a national newspaper. I'm looking for a woman who always loses weight for the summer but then tends to put it all back on at Christmas time so then has to lose it again. Please PM me if this sounds like you or someone you know and I can tell you more. Good fee paid for anyone taking part. Thanks.

No idea. Just a flashback to all those "Herbalife" stickers one used to see at bus stops back in the 80s.

Where's the story anyway? Isn't it biologically sensible to do this, with the fat keeping people warmer for the winters? Or is that just a Myth? And why not ask the Mythters too? Why just women? Or is it to do with the diet companies sponsoring most of the women's magazines anyway? Etc etc etc

    • I had lots of books to donate to the HH Oxfam bookshop a few months ago.                I phoned them, and they told me I could drive to the rear of the shop, where parking is easy.  They gave me directions, and came out to meet me when I arrived.  They were very helpful, and grateful for the donation. So it's definitely worth ringing them!
    • Called Tessa Jowell GP Surgery today after failing to get two repeat prescriptions from the pharmacy.  When I asked the pharmacy, I was told that they had been requested but not sent by the surgery.  After speaking to the surgery I was told that those two items were no longer on my repeat prescriptions.  I was told I would need a prescription review. Earliest date would be the 22 September.  That is utterly ridiculous.  Surely someone from the surgery should have contacted me to tell me this after requesting the repeat prescriptions two weeks ago.    Also, apparently, there is no point sending an email regarding prescriptions as they are not actioned nor replied to as I have discovered.
    • Erm... guessing it's like any service... so you can receive/be part of something relevant to you in the area where you happen to reside. You don't have to sign up but you might miss out on an excellent Tesco offer or two. 🤷‍♀️
