????
Nearly 3pm on the 31st of October and no thread moaning about trick and treating; scaring grannies; extortion by feral gangs of middle class brats, etc. etc. This place has gone to the dogs I tell ya. Louisa
I saw some gaunt looking welly wearing middle class mothers loitering with their toddlers in Halloween costumes earlier this morning. I always buy a small bucket of haribo sweets and leave them in the window, when said trick or treaters knock I don't answer and wave at them from my living room window hehe. I'm a wicked old bat Louisa. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/38018-wheres-the-trick-or-treat-thread/#findComment-692089 Share on other sites
DaveR
Just saw two kids in full costume trick or treating at lunch time in Pret, Kingsway. Weird. Louisa
MM I shall enjoy every last one of those sweeties. Any I don't eat won't be wasted, they'll go in the bin, and any trick or treaters brave enough to rummage through my garbage bin is welcome to them! :) Louisa. Otta
Mick, Louisa leaves the sweets by the window INSIDE the house I think. The shops on Sydenham Road are doing a thing where they give dressed up kids sweets. I have no problem with that, but I am a bit bar humbug about door knocking. We do answer and give sweets out though. MrBen
My Canadian missus goes large for it every year so I kind of play along. But I got told off for handing out unwrapped penny sweets (from Hope and Greenwood too!). Apparently they have to be wrapped sweets to be politically correct and "middle class safe". That means a massive fizzy snake fest for me tonight. TillieTrotter
Apparently Otta, the rules around our hood are that if you haven't got a halloween sticker on your front door, the kids aren't allowed to knock. Just found that out from a local estate agent. I've now got to eat 3 jumbo bags of chews and lollies. Help-Ma-Boab
Penny sweets, plural? You've changed...not down with Trick or Treat, we called it Guising.MrBen Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> My Canadian missus goes large for it every year so> I kind of play along. Otta
Tillie, the kids on my manor are not paying attention to the sticker rule! We usually put a pumpkin out but never got round to it but door has gone a few times mainly big groups with a couple of parents. Some good costumes too.
