get with it AP, street art ( I feckin hate that term BTW ) has to have AK47/ Ronald Mc Donald/ tescos logo / hand grenade used ironically to be a hit.Its all about the clever and original juxtaposition of globalism and war and death and shit innit.

get back to grass roots and get tagging bus windows and blacking out teeth on grinning tube averts.or maybe speech bubbles with bad words crudely drawn on posters.and styalised genitalia.Ole Skool for impact.Retro is the way forward.

keep it real on the mean streets of SE22.

Peckhamgatecrasher, apologies for not replying sooner, the Herrods* pud is in no way a reference to any heinous act of cowardly terrorism, being a pacifist I don't condone any act of violence or hatred to anyone or anything... apart from Daleks maybe.

Herrods* is a place of pilgrimage during the seasonal festive binge for the discerning aerosol afficionado. Specialising in inappropriate last minute artistic gifts, primarily for yourself, but maybe someone else.

*not to be confused with any mini mart in Knightsbridge with a similar name (this a serious contemptorary art gallery questioning mass consumption, please buy our stuff)

It's full of naive charm and spunky gusto, like a lot of Fine Art degree shows. Slade? Chelsea? South Bank Poly Uni maybe? A career in local council leaflet design awaits.

Worth a Desmond.

When we were 19 we did a deeply ironic radio show on uni radio. In second year we had to progress so made it a post ironic take on an ironic radio show. Then we realised the irony of a post-ironic take on an ironic radio show.

We had become knobs. Disappearing ever so slowly up our own rectums.

I've decided I'm going to run this in Nunhead Cemetery next summer:

"Edgy, anti-consumptive street art by Men with Beards"

Edgy anti-consumption street art by men with beards is a simplistic but post-ironic take on the ironic juxtapositions found in the urban hipster art movement of the early 2010's. It examines the tat consumption generated from the middle class movements anti-consumptive message before the main protagonists disappeared up a giant rectal passageway.

As part of the attraction there will be an interactive "bouncy sphincter" for both children and adults alongside a giant life sized rat with a machine gun. Mulled wine and prosecco will be served.

    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.

    • I would recommend the Dulwich Test and Service centre that used to be in Hindemanns road and then moved to the little Trading Estate off Tyrrel Road. I've used them very happily for nearly 40 years. Paul and Reg Shires.
