NunheadGirl
Unless I am badly mistaken there isn't one within stomping distance is there?Where does everyone go to get their shoes mended? Now I don't venture into the 'shitty' any more I'm at a loss.Amanda Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3887-what-east-dulwich-needs-is-a-cobbler/ Share on other sites
Brendan
I think there is one in the very parade of shops in Grove Vale that is being discussed on another thread. Jamma
Merrifields on grove vale, opposite the library. They'll make shoes for you and everything. NunheadGirl
Aha yes, thank you...that will teach me to post in haste and then read other threads at leisure.....I will have to brave the 'seedy' end of ED then (coming from a Nunhead Girl that's rich isn't it!) in order to get well heeled!Thank you. viper
I agree, but in the interim there is an excellent one on Camberwell Green (opp Superdrug). They did a brilliant repair on my shoes, plus safely looked after my purse (with all my cards/cash) which I left there, until I came back to pick up my shoes. Really impressed. Jah Lush
The cobbler on Grove Vale is excellent. The shop may look a trifle shabby but the work he does is top notch and almost half the price you'll pay in town. NunheadGirl
It was a 'tongue in cheek' remark based on the subject matter of the other post about that particular parade of shops....I wouldn't dare be patronising on here, I'm far too new to the scene! mrsw
I know it's not ED, but there's an excellent shoe repairer who's very reasonable in the market on Rye Lane in Peckham. lozzyloz
I wouldn't say he's seedy and dusty but he's certainly chirpy, cheerful and helpful. Even put a few holes in my leather belt for free.
